last year the on the first night scrappers beat the poms on the track, poms went to the crying room saying that the first car across the line who was 52s cut the pole line on the 2nd to last corner, how ever myself & other fans have seen 3 different videos to suggest other wise the dust that come from the wheel in question came from the lip of the concrete pole line on the inside of track oh I don't remember that but thanks poms will be very tough this year

The white stuff and the green stuff is off the race track. So a car with it's wheels on the concrete pole line is off the racing surface, the same as it is on the grass. Only the dirt is considered part of the racing surface. This was clarified by SNZ referees after a question during drivers briefing at Palmy Teams a few years back. If the Stratford car wasn't diving inside three Team GB block cars at the time he likely wouldn't have been pinged. No advantage gained. But in this case he's completely over the concrete and onto the grass, AND diving inside the block cars...... Anyway, back to 2018. Barry B

The law is only enforced when it suits ..

It will be good to see Waikato back, need their drunk supporters to go down the pits and wind up the Panther drivers.

Looking at all the teams that have been named they do all look pretty even and as pointed out by speedwayfan there looks to be only one ring in, which reflects the evenness of the teams. Some teams that have finished towards the bottom in recent years have now got plenty of experience together and some teams that have big names in them are a relatively new combination so it looks like an even playing field. I'm picking the poms to go all the way this year.

Rumour has it that only 12 teams were wanted. So if AKL should get a side together does it mean they get the right of way to enter over a team that didn't last year??? (waikato).... wanganui didn't participate last year either so waikato being entered first would be put in draw over them if AKL didn't enter for example
Anyone heard something similar. I have read comments that lean toward this theory/rumour or whatever you want to call it.
12 teams is best scenario. Groups just have to race within that group to qualify etc. not against all other teams in regards to points, protest, draws, meeting a team in the semis you've already raced is impossible etc. better for spectators in that regards.......... etc etc etc

Whilst I really like the 12 team 4 group format for all the reasons already mentioned, I'm sure if 13 or even 14 teams wanted to enter then I doubt they would be turned away, providing they could name a full & confirmed team by any deadline given.

So auckland pull out. You now have 2 teams wanting one place. Now what bro? Coin toss to see who goes? Me I love more teams. Why wouldn't anyone. Don't think the groups are as good as people make out they are
