Obby, do u remember Roger Nees venture into the Osbourne superstock ?? Malcolm cleaned him out pretty quickly into his stockcar career You can look at the last three years of superstock racing and see a number of guys who have been cleaned out in christchurch by one team or the other - thinking Damien Ellery, Neil Frew, etc All I know is it’s stockcars - and they have side rails and bumpers for a reason. I also know that I had a dream to race stockcar for a long time, and when I retired from rugby, and finally got a chance to race I gained an even bigger respect for my hero’s. The hits are for real, and the impact is for real. Your body, brain, and probably more challengingly your entire central nervous system takes a shock. It’s intense. Which means it’s absolutely not for everyone. And it makes me like blockers even more after knowing how hard it is to keep control of the car when getting biffed, the brain scrambled, and still being able to then slow, spin, or stop an opposition car. I guess sure, I think hits, can end careers, but for some (and this may or may, Or Mauboy be the case for any drivers we have mentioned) the impact is to great, the risk for family, work etc to great; that they figure it’s not worth it. But never forget - they have bars and bumpers for a reason, and if you get got, there is nothing better than coming back another day to give it back.

Did I hear correctly that someone took a cheap shot at Malcolm Ngatai after the checkered flag in Heat 2? There’s a vid on the RJPTV Facebook page, looks nothing wrong with it, decent hit. No cheap or illegal tactics. Probably not the best idea at moment for 19c or any car actually to be going that wide that slowly around the outside of corners as there’s a few ready to have a go 😂

Just saw the video of that race online and everyone is saying that is a cheap shot, how is that a cheap shot ? Maybe a few sour grapes ?? If your on the track, moving and in an attacking position, isnt it game on ? Ngatai chose to run wide and take the other car to the wall...should have checked the mirrors before doing so. Jamie Hamilton knows how to hit and hit hard. It wasnt after the race...but looked like Ngatai took off after chequered to get him...could be wrong as I wasnt there. Bring on the NZs, I dont think there will be a Christchurch car on the podium as they will be too busy with their own egos 😂 Hiya um where do ya get the footage SLV Speedway on FB

What a cheap shot! Save it for the teams racing, not against your own club car's.

Needs to be seen by everyone who has ever uttered the words "Awww Stockcars don't hit any more" I hope holden has a read of this.

What is with all the crying about what is happening at the glen. People go on about not enough hitting and now sulk about so called “cheap shots”. The only people that should be complaining are the drivers. From a spectators point of view it is the best thing that has happened to Christchurch superstocks in years. The last few seasons have been boring as s#%t and there were times I have been pit crewing or driving and have just stayed down in the pits and not even bothered to go watch them. The last time I remember the grade being that interesting was when Brad Rosewarne was running a muck. When I go to the teams champs I don’t whinge when my home team gets thrashed, I am there for the big hits. Wake up people and enjoy it while it lasts, because before you know it, it will all be hugs and kisses and back to 10 laps of non contact boring racing again.

Also, to put the above shot in context, check out this shot that happened in the same race See what I mean about teams racing mentality? Was one of hose nights where if a shot was there, it was taken, and if you felt at risk you either got on the brakes, or you spun to the infield. Be great to see this full in car footage race action. Was plent of action and great for the fans. Not sure what happened in Heat 3, as 971 pulled off pre heat 3?

Once title is the racing will still continue as it is cause this thing with Leech Motorsports and the other Team is far from over so it won,t be back to 10 laps of side by side racing which strangely enough i dont really find boring

I agree Rob its the most entertaining season we've ever had.Lets make the most of it.Its great to have a few grudges going.Much better than being all buddy buddy all the time.
