Great 1st night summary Downey. Very fair and accurate. I don't know if they had gone red when the car got t-boned despite sitting there with waving tumbs down at the point of the track where everybody was going in. Thought that was a bit poor. The driver that hit him didn't look well either Hopefully just winded.
Agree with the lack of action in the 3rd haets, and agree with reason why. If the third heats were carnage they would have struggled.
It will be interesting to see how many no-shows from drivers tonight.

The track tore up a heap of gear. Suspension, axles and about 800 tyres. Yes track is same, for all but that is a cop out and makes the championship a lottery. Wall riding was the only way to get around the corners for thee first half of the meeting. This may be fun to watch on a club day but not a national champs. I would have thought stockcars would have been one of the easier classes to prep for. GOOD TO SEE GRADERS ETC OUT THERE TRYING TO REPAIR THE TRACK AS WE LEFT TONIGHT. Hopefully better tomorrow. You could have cut and paste that exact same post from the first time this event was held at the same venue. Lets just hope we get a very deserved winner like we did that time. You could cut and paste that from the NI stockcar champs at Meeanee 6 weeks ago First night track was a nightmare there and they did bring a grader out to get through the night. Second night was very good there. Here's hoping for the same tonight at BP

Do I head over to BayPark from Rotorua tonight and see an R sweep of the podium or do I stick to my policy of never going back there after seeing too many rubbish meetings, for a NZ title , I should be there already !!.

I reckon toss a coin, then whatever happens at the end of the night it's the coins fault

Not sure bout a R sweep - but be surprised if an R doesn't feature! Trouble is there's few S's and W's!

They did an excellent job overnight of track prep . But now went 4 races without water and turn 3 is slicked off completely and creating a huge dust storm. Just gave it a sprinkle now before heat 1 of NZs so hopefully settles down.
