usually I like to see someone win the NZ Sprintcar who hasn't won before (maybe a hangover from the Jones/Wakeling monopoly) but this year my preference would be a Jamie. Both have won it before and would be happy with either (though would prefer 19c if had to pick one).

What is the confirmed format? Is it all in for both heats with a reverse grid - then top 6 shoot out followed by grids 7 down as qualified?

I was thinking Keaton Dahm was a darkhorse for a good result. TAB does not agree having him listed at short odds up there with Duff Taylor and Larson.
Dollansky has not been on good form this trip. Has he slowed that much or has our top players gotten that much better or a combination of both? Looking at lap times at Western Springs they have been pretty consistent over the past 10 or so years averaging in the 12s. Everything has to be right to get into the 11s. It does not look like getting any faster, maybe just drivers better through traffic?

I see they have laid a new lime stabilized track under the watch full eye of Puk and his merry men ,I thought by now the one and only thank goodness Sir Ramjam would of commented on it also Pete but the fish burgers must keep them quiet .. Rodney Wood is no dark horse to palmy even in one of Magillas Dodgems and on form he may just slip through the cordon of those expected to take out the silver ware ,but i got a penny on slim he,s my top pick ....

off topic a little here but, how come people don't pay an entry fee to race the NZ Champs at Palmy but have a entry fee to run the NZ GP a week later at Baypark??

So much luck involved on this track with this format though. Barry B

Yes I sure will take heaps midway, I hope to get everybody. I find Sprintcars a challenge to shoot at night but I am really looking forward to it. And yes you are right midway, Dean Brindle is a nice guy but I still think 21w will take out the title.

23 cars turned up. Format is split into two groups. Each group has two heats, drawn grid then reverse grid. Top 6 do pole shuffle. I assume 20 in 30 lap final (or however many left running by then)
