11-4-46 Yellow light finish If the yellow lights are activated after the lead car has finished the race, all competitors that follow through the finish line are counted in order of passing the line. Exception to this is that the vehicle that has caused the yellow, their finishing place will be the last car on their finishing lap when they received the chequered flag No discussion required The rule book often ignites conversation, not stops it. Was certainly a bizarre end to the race...... Barry B

Am I right in saying that Sam only won one race all weekend? That being the case, may as well make it the big one...

Fantastic for Sam and the team. That's it though in those one race deals. You only need to win one race.

Father and son winners once again. Well done to Sam Waddell, Woodford Glen (the venue looked fantastic, and ran a great event) and The Pits for keeping us entertained, especially during the track grading. Shame about the rain delay, but it was well predicted and planned for well ahead.

Sam and the team put together a solid weekend. Stayed out of trouble and capitalised on front of field starts on night one and made places on night two. Fair to say night two had a few cars missing that helped back starts, but there were others in the same boat who didn't do as good a job to make the front row. Once he did that he had to hold on to it and did a great job for a well deserved win. Grant and Steve also put together 6 good races and deserve their 2 & 3. Thoughts go out to Ian Burson - very fast and consistent and got hurt on a tricky track - would have been great to see him in the mix at final time. I dont think any of us have seen someone finish night one with 7 points make it to the back row through the repercharge and then go on to finish 6th in the final. Chris takes home a chocolate fish, but perhaps should be recognised for the drive of the weekend tonight. So much talent in the class right now - bring on next year at Waikaraka Park!

Been looking forward to this one for a long time and it didn’t disappoint
The depth in the field now is absolutely unbelievable. Congrats to all the place getters, all smooth rather than spectacular over the course of the weekend
Drives from Dickson and Lawson over the weekend will stick in the memory
23p certainly adds something to the meetings, with all respect to Mick it is one of the ugliest cars I have ever seen but can’t take your eyes off it as it is fast and all over the show and when all is in its favour it is a rocket
Special mention for 124m Corrin, to see the referees make a mistake, and then pull over to say put him back in and I’ll go to the back while running 5th in a NZ Champs final is the best sportsmanship I’ve seen for a very long time
Some real hard luck stories over the weekend, mainly Cowling, McKay, Burson and Lovelady who were all taken out of the running through no fault of their own
Will be a few guys wondering what could have been, like 17c who overcooked it while in 2nd and dropped a big amount of points

That move by Corrin was unbelievable. I didn't think there was any contact at all, even the replay didn't look like it, but Dan obviously knew there had been and righted the wrong. Have never seen that before.

He got into the back of him reasonably hard coming in with a bit of extra speed, was just out of shot but happened right in front of me

Congratulations to the new NZ's and all who took part over the weekend. Woodford Glen had the whole weekend under control by statements of previous threads, which is a big ups for a championship title meeting. With C. Cardwell 4th, is another father/son combo for 1NZ in the future around the corner. With 58C 5th the other C cars were 12th to 15th. 18M S.Wardell 6B G. Flynn 1NZ S. Cowling 8C C. Cardwell 58C R. May have one one race win, but had biggest points Just in case anyone misconstrued my previous post, I was trying to point out that Sam's remarkable consistency was what put him in a great position for a shot at the title, which he converted perfectly. Well done, Waddell the Younger! Seems Baypark has had a pretty good grip on NZ Super Saloon titles in the past few years, at least this one shouldn't bring out the howls of "it wasn't fair" from the detractors.
