I am now picking Auckland for an easy win in the event for the following reasons.. 1 meter gap at all times No contact with anyone outside your bubble. In plain terms any car making contact with an Auckland car is breaching Auckland covid rules and must be excluded and then put in managed isolation.. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Well at least you're allowed to attend without being frowned upon Mintie, by virtue of your superior address. Superior in many things Mr Brown... But perhaps they should rename unsaid..😇😇😇

Ring Ring Them "111 operator here Do you require fire, police or ambulance Me "Umm police I guess" Them "Putting u thru now" Police "Police here, what is your emergency?" Me "Yeah, I'd like to report a serious case of postcode envy" Police "Go away, we're dealing with a major health crisis that hasn't killed millions of ppl here" 🤣🤣😜😜😜😜

What else would I have to do to make it look like I came from the Waikato? Six fingers? Listen only to head banging music?

This actually makes me mad. I know the wellington clubs hands were probably tied and they had to do this, more to be seen to be doing the right thing than for any actual benefit. Think about it. It's the illusion of safety. I take it no member of this auckland team or their crew or support vehicles will stop anywhere for fuel, food, toilet, parts or any such thing from the time they leave Auckland till the time they return? I take it they will be towing home after night one and returning on night two, as surely they can't stay in local accommodation that will be cleaned and serviced by local cleaners. They definitely wouldn't be able to use any local workshops, as most teams would on a weekend like this. They most certainly won't be able to eat anywhere that there might be non auckland folk. I guess they could bring their own BBQ but they will have to bring all the supplies for it as they can't visit local supermarkets etc etc etc. Does all that sound stupid or does locking them away while they are at the speedway in the interest of optics and the illusion of safety sound stupid? Ohhh BTW, I hope none of them (or anyone for that matter, but particularly the akl team) gets any kind of injury over the weekend, cause it's gunna take a long time for an Auckland ambulance to get here to treat them. Why has NZ got so scared that we feel the need to be looked after to such extremes? Why is their no critical thought applied to any decision? I had an outpatient appointment at the hosp yesterday and it was like the Salem Witch Trial trying to get into the place with several questions being asked, all of which relied on my honesty to answer. Again the illusion of safety. You do know that at Level 2 Aucklanders can travel around the country, they can stop for fuel, they can eat at restaurants, they can sleep in hotels right? The one thing they are advised not to do is mingle in crowds larger than 100. By isolating the drivers and crews in the pit area, by holding a separate drivers briefing, by seating the supporters in their own area, by being off limits for interviews, surely you would agree that these are all safeguards against being in close contact with masses of people. I understand they won't be participating in the grand parade either. What more would you have them do?

What more would you have them do? ah yeah, silky me, I forgot it's perfectly safe for them to mix and mingle in crowds of 93 but not 100. Besides you hit the nail on the head they were ADVISED not made to. Believe me when I say if the Auckland team requested these precautions then all good, if it gets them there, let's do it. But as far as I'm aware they didn't. That decession was made by organisations with an eye on opttics.

I was in two minds last night as to whether it was the right decision to run this weekend. I felt as soon as the levels changed they were going to run regardless. I was also wondering whether SNZ might stop it due to public image. Having read the press release I am happy with what they have done. I also don't think they will ask spectators if they are from Auck. It maybe a safety/covers one bum statement but never the less they have done something (especially if they have fenced the Auck team off). In some ways it is more on the Auck attendees to make sure they are all good before travelling. I assume any ill people, close contacts of the current positive cases, anybody with connections to Papatoetoe high school etc etc would not travel. Whilst stopping short of calling the lockdown an over-reaction I didn't see any point carrying it on past the three days. Even close contacts are coming back negative (mostly) so the likely-hood of a non close contact taking it out of Auck and spreading it down the country is almost non-existent in my humble opinion. Bring on the racing. In case I am wrong I hope I can't catch it via the live stream. As most Aucklanders are dodgy, maybe fencing them off may actually catch on at other events.

Obviously, for health reasons, only an Aucklander can interview the Alleycats when they win!!!! I'd be vital like a doctor, a chemist, a supermarket or a petrol station!!!

Problem IS sonic, they don't have a clue how the 3 got it! It's a different strain than any before. Hasn't been traced through the border.

I would hate to be proven wrong, but I am not thinking we will not be hearing headlines in the next few weeks suggesting "Wellington has a Covid outbreak linked to a visiting Auckland stockcar team".That is obviously also SNZ stance as they haven't stepped in to halt one of their sanctioned championships. Do you think this event should have been canned?

I am now picking Auckland for an easy win in the event for the following reasons.. 1 meter gap at all times No contact with anyone outside your bubble. In plain terms any car making contact with an Auckland car is breaching Auckland covid rules and must be excluded and then put in managed isolation.. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 This is very good! have you organized a click and collect for them with the flag man?

So ... given everything that has been talked about on here in the last few hours how come the Blues can play a rugby against two other level 1 teams tomorrow outside of Auckland yet the Alleycats supposedly can't shake hands with their opponents after a race?
