Is there a reason they won't run it midday Sat & Sunday? Both days the weather looks fine middle of the day & deteriorating at night??

Given the short notice you would possibly need to make sure all track staff including Ambos are available earlier to run the meeting and then likely need to refund some spectators who purchased tickets but can't make the rescheduled times. Also, the catering companies may not be happy if they can't get staff to work the new times and miss out on revenue given the fact they have likely had to pay a bit of $$ to get catering rights.

Plus there will be people with fixed long-distance travelling arrangements for tomorrow, some flying (including officials), accomodation to be booked into before the meeting starts etc etc, not to mention that daytime racing is generally second-rate by comparison to night racing. Plus the drunkards would have to pour beer onto their cornflakes to reach the appropriate state of inebriation by start time. Once you've got everybody in the house you can do something for Night 2 if you're trying to beat the weather, but for Night 1 it'd be next to impossible without upsetting so many people, including some of the teams no doubt if they were suddenly given less than 24 hours notice that they'd be racing 7 hours earlier than expected. I know on a big night like the World 240's Rotorua has over 100 staff involved in various activities from security to those on the gates, from lap scorers to announcers, from class reps to office staff. One would imagine that the number is similar for Palmerston North at Teams, if not more (and that's not including competitors), all put in place weeks before the event date(s). I went to a concert by The Eagles a few years back, where with only a few hours notice they moved up the start time by an hour or two (I can't quite remember now) in a bid to beat an approaching cyclone. Everybody was contacted by email, which means some got the message, others didn't, although the approaching cyclone got plenty of press coverage so most people knew to be prepared for anything. They even cut 3 songs out of the playlist compared to the night before as they kept one eye on the weather radar, and while we still got wet we all got home safely before the worst of the weather hit....but there were still people arriving at their seats half way through the show totally p***ed off that they missed half of the concert. I See the Gisborne cars have all of a sudden got side panels above the drivers side hip plates.

I See the Gisborne cars have all of a sudden got side panels above the drivers side hip plates. I understand Rodney wood has commented on this topic ... Over time rees race cars have moved rear weight back, hence a more up right ,but low seating position .. The hip plate is legal an covers the drivers shoulder position ... an also allows a bigger exit in the case of fire etc in my thinking , ...such is the evolution of superstocks

You would think with all the issues around wing size Harley robb would take the time to ensure his was within the roof of his car but he hasn’t and it isn’t but luckily snz officials aren’t interested in enforcing the rules.
