Nothing could have been a bigger embarrassment than the crap the International drivers were served up at the Springs last year.

bringing international drivers to Waikarka Park is an embarasment I dont think its embarassment venue that needs alot of money spent on it reminds me of old springs venue back in the days before had all extra lighting installed. Has to be major concern if springs closes down theres basically no Midget or Sprintcar tracks in Auckland area. unless wacky park invest in alot of money making it permanent home. especially only about 4 tracks north island caters for open wheelers. future looks bleak unless springs can somehow be saved.

The springs can be saved as a speedway and multiple purpose venue.
We as a country need to move forward beyond ball sports creating stadiums that protect the truf. Ball sports in this day and age don't have enough fixtures to make a stadium profitable.
The springs can be a multi purpose venue that includes speedway if we think outside the box.
Went to a Metallica concert in LA on back to back nights and went back to the same stadium on the third night to watch monster trucks.
They pulled back the carpet turf and within 24 hours had dirt layed down.
If we think outside the box a concert can operate 48 - 72 hours after a speedway meeting at the springs fairly easily..
In fact there is a marketing opportunity right there.
Get a discounted speedway ticket when you purchase your concert ticket.
Best way to attract new people to the sport..

Does appear that Auckand Unlimited whom runs stadiums in Auckland dont seem really interested keeping speedway at the springs. if that happens after this season will western springs become just another white Elephant. very seldom was it used outiside of what used to be 12 meetings per season plus the odd concert.

⭐️ INTERNATIONAL MIDGET DRIVER ANNOUCEMENT Michael Buddy Kofoid Returns to Baypark Speedway to battle again.
ANNOUNCEMENT FROM Trent Way Motorsport
I’m thrilled to announce that once again Michael "Buddy" Kofoid Racing will be returning to New Zealand over Christmas to drive the 2USA midget for Way Motorsport in the Midas International Midget Series. Buddy needs little introduction to open wheel racing being a winner in both World of Outlaws and All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint car series this year. He is also a 2 time USAC Midget Champ, Prelim Chilli Bowl winner and BC39 winner just to name a few of his many achievements. These achievements make him the the perfect candidate to jump behind the wheel again of the 2USA Midget for Way Motorsports.
This year's car is a new Bullet by Spike and Speedway Toyota. The new car design will be released in the coming weeks and we look forward to seeing Buddy behind the wheel on track.
A big thanks to his sponsors for coming on board. Langslow Engineering 2015 Ltd| J. A. Russell Ltd| 2Way Industries Ltd| Carbon-developments Ltd| iSign it| 03 Design Co.

One thing not said in the above is that Michael "Buddy" Kofoid, was the New Zealand Sprintcar Champion in 2018/2019
When and Where: 2018/19 Cromwell 1st: Michael (Buddy) Kofoid 8usa 2nd: Jamie Larsen 82p 3rd: Michael Pickens 2nza
And I was there to see it. He also won most of the races he entered in.
