Love the concept at work here, though it will effectively kill the late season north island meetings
With the teams having already attended the NZ Midget Title I thought a few may say no to two southern trips in the same season but the level of support is excellent

Car Numbers appears to be exceptional for 4 nights of racing. Midgets over 30 and Sprintcars and tqs right up there in numbers also. hopefully good weather to boot. Joel Myers Jnr who went back to the states also be back for Speedweek.
Double Duty will include Michael Pickens and i believe Brad Mosen will be piloting 15C Sprintcar of Steve Duff Jnr.
Also Livestream be available well as Audio Coverage.

It just goes to show Percy the commitment teams have to there sport ,and the financial support they have . You have to admire those that can make it happen ,but also feel sorry for those who cant .,shame there is not much life over the other side of the fence ..

Yes there is some pretty good money up for grabs at the Ruapuna Speed week. The R R Duff Gold cup Sprint car race $20,000 to the winner, second place $10,000.With the rest of the money spread down the field.Certainly helps to pay the bills.

Its interesting to see how much prize money is to be paid out ,compared to the Dodgem classes in the North Island ,but it just goes to show how much interest it has shown with the competitors that are willing to travel with a chance at the big carrot . I do hope PERCY while sitting back in his lazy boy recliner finds not a wink ,but a link to it to enjoy ..

Definitely there is no Promoter or Club in the North island that cares about the open wheel classes to put up that sort of money. At least the North island competitors will know where the money come from when they are buying their groceries.

The Western Springs commentator can learn a lot from the legendary AJ Batt. Every lap time for every car was given during time trials. Proves that it can be done
