Jason from The Pits Media in yesterday's podcast prior to the Peter Rees SNZ board interview said that he was not happy with SNZ's media release regarding Cam McManaway as Cam had not had the opportunity to respond to the allegations regarding his engine or lodge an appeal. On reading the SNZ press release I think Jason (and Cam) might well be rightly aggrieved. A decision released publically as a fait accompli before the conclusion of the process might well be seen by a court as a failure of SNZ procedures and a denial of natural justice.

One of the many approved engine sealers in chch will have checked it off and then it would have also been checked over externaly by the local green sheeter. Keep in mind that an Engine sealers responsibility is to measure and check cubic displacement.... nothing more. Yes and in most cases its the same engine builder who is an approved sealer putting seals on their own motors.. In this case im not 100% sure as the online list of sealers on the snz site has not been updated for a couple years and i know that there is some missing |

The 2nz Osbourne car has been found to be uncompliant from the following T11-2-37 Engine Block (a) Option One: OE road car block. Tall deck or raised cam blocks are not permitted. T11-2-36 Engine Capacity & Configuration Restrictions (F) Engine originally fitted with OE needle or roller and/or roller tip rockers that retains the OE needle/roller set up: maximum 4212cc (257ci). T11-2-34 Engine (d)OE engine can be modified except where prohibited in this Section. T11-2-39 Rockers (a) Rocker Configuration is to be as per OE (i)shaft mounted must remain so, (ii) stud mounted must remain so. T11-2-39 Rockers (c) Roller Rockers not permitted. T11-2-6 BASE ROAD CAR (E) The road car must be a two or four door production saloon or sportscar. It cannot be a convertible, ute, SUV, van, wagon or similar. Not surprised on the body shape ruling as it's always looked like a super saloon racing with saloons |

The rule T11-2-6 Is telling you that you cant run a cast iron LS Block because they only came out in SUV types of vehicles.

Not a crusade, perhaps all those are not posting on here are quiet because they don't actually know.... it almost seems like people are trying very hard to keep a lid on it..... don't you think Osborne Racing owe it to their 8000+ followers that have supported them deserve complete transparency?? A bit of a kick in the teeth to those 8000+ if it's brushed under the carpet. |

It does look like an axe to grind IMHO, and quite gutless. Might take those comments more seriously if there name was attached, that way I would know they aren't coming from a Russian bott, a 16 year old pimple face kid who works at McD's who got told off by one of these guy's & hurt his/her feelings, etc. BL |

To my mind, if there was an intent to break a rule then that can be called cheating, but if there is no intent, just carelessness or ignorance, then thats not cheating. SNZ have very clearly outlined which rules were broken, but they have not alleged cheating. The offences were all quite obscure and technical. It's not as if they used an eight cylinder when only a six cylinder is allowed! Team Osborne clearly trusted their engine builder to provide them with a compliant motor. The motor they used was not compliant, and the final responsibility for that rests with them, so they are the rule breakers. But neither Mark nor Ashton are engine builders, they dont take the engine apart and re-assemble it when it needs repairs or refreshing, they are reliant on their provider's assurance that the motor is legal. Breaking a rule via ignorance is still breaking a rule, but it's not cheating. |

Why would you want to defend a cheating team, and not only is it a kick in the teeth by not updating their fan base and letting them believe the status quo, it's also a big middle finger to every other Saloon competitor that did play by the rules. Here's a scenario for you... let's see how it plays out. If the other team that's currently under appeal gets clarification one way or another I bet you they put up a statement for their fans long before the other team.... time will tell. |

So please explain the rule they have been pulled up on for the rocker gear?... even the average crew member in Saloons knows that roller rockers are illegal.... it's blatant cheating, and trying to insinuate that Osborne and his engine builder are purely on a business level... don't think so. |
