Looking for pics of the high-bar stockcar (was a super stock) that used to run out of Huntly in the very late 80's early nineties...was blue and white in colour..was also a pipe chassis

The Proctor car was the subject of a previous thread which may still be down the pages somewhere. If not I will try and find the photo again.
I may have a small photo of the Huntly car, will have to wait until my new scanner arrives next week.

Excuse the ignorance guys, but what is a "High-Bar" chassis in regards to stockcars?? I think it must have been before my time.

High bars are similar to what you see on a midget.....bars coming from the top of the roll cage sloping down towards the front of the car.
There were others around, did shane anderson from baypark have one before his ford y beast, yellow chassis with blue body or vice versa??? sure someone along that line had some.
would be a good safety measure especially watching cars go0 rollcage first into the fence as they do on occasion!! ;D

There was no evidence either way but the Poms have been using a High Bar design for years and to my knowledge, the bar work hasnt increased the numbers of rolled cars over there. Bring 'em on I say because the safety issues out weigh any 'performance' advantages IMHO

Thanks for the pic mat14H...car is not currently running out of Rotorua tho..is sitting in my shed nearly ready to race again...Last time I raced it was a couple of years ago out of Huntly as 26H (had to get rid of the ex before I could afford to go racing again...if you think racing is expensive ...you should see what it costs to get rid of an ex...got the better deal tho...I got to keep the car..lol)....hopefully will be ready to go again soon...just waiting on Insurance to pay me back after hitting a horse....and NO pumafan..the car does not look bloody terrible...it no longer has the high bars but otherwise looks almost exactly the same (different bonnet)...It is low , wide , easy to drive and extremly strong....its built like the preverbial brick outhouse....the car is a credit to Graham Pegg who built it..the car is 16/17 years old and still going strong

Not a good look with the car lurching over like that as the photo must have been taken when the car was having a bad day!! Have seen it go in person and it looked pretty darn good to me!!!

Im sure Pallmall or another wise poster will know ! Yup they did, it is now Rick Campbells car. He had the first one then got the last one as the original was a bit rooted. Carlos Chesnut finished it off.
