As some of you will be aware on the 31st March 2007 13 year old Charlie Higgins was killed in a freak accident when a Sprint Car cleared the safety fence and struck him at Eastern States Speedway.
Because of charlie's enthusiasim, passion and dedication to the sport we will be holding a annual race night in Charlie's memory. to be called " Charlies Night " This year it will be held on Saturday 13th December 2008 at Eastern States Speedway.
We will be selling " yellow ribbons" at the gate and having a bucket go round the crowd fo donations, this years proceeds will be given to The Heart Children Foundation, ( charlies older brother passed away 18 years ago at the age of 4 months from a heart defect)
This is an invitation to any driver that would like to attend. I will be donating trophies 1st, 2nd & 3rd, there is no prize or travel money, there will be spot prize's.
Classes on the programm at this stage will be, Superstocks, Stockcars, Streeetstocks, Ministocks, Super Saloons, & Productions... conformation of classes will be by the number of drivers who respond.
To confirm your spot please email myself or Alice.
safe racing

That is a very nice thing to do. Good on ya Blenhiem for making this happen.
If there wasnt water between our two islands I would make the trip for sure.
Best of luck with the meeting, it sounds like a ripper & RIP Charlie

would like to be there myself but know i wont be. hope the meeting will be a success for all.Tish are you going to set up a account for people that cant be there to donate money into for the heart children foundation or maybe every track that races that night of the 13 December should do the same thing with the buckets going round the crowd as it is the kids of the future that will make our sport live forever.
