I'm picking the Titans as my sentimental choice, the Maulers because I love the way they conduct themselves in teams racing, but in reality I'm sure the Young Guns can do it again.

True no such thing as a sure thing in teams racing. But seeing them preform so well in Palmy gives a supporter confidence.

A look at the qualifying groups.
Red: The Maulers have been a stand out team at the last two years teams champs and even a build up that did not meet their supporters expectations won't stop them being one of the overall favourites. The Vulcans have finished higher than the Maulers at Huntly and Palmy teams this year, while everyone who has seen the Gladiators in action this season have raved about them. So either the Vulcans or Gladiators could win this group without it being too much of an upset. My pick, the team who's approach to team racing I enjoy immensely, the Maulers.
Yellow: I must confess I would be a little surprised to see the Pumas win this group, they have quality personnel, but need to show better team work than the Palmy meeting to take it. The Bulldogs should field a top notch team and although the Stormers have had a below par build up they have always performed well at Te Marua. Again they have the drivers but need the team to gel. My pick, but wishing they would go back to yellow and black bodies, the Stormers.
Green: The battle between the Rascals and the Titans should decide this group. Kihikihi I'm sure will put their heart and soul into it and will have team spirit second to none, but it would be a genuine upset if they won. The Titans in my mind would have easily won the most improved award last season. The Rascals have lost a couple of experienced teams racers but have talent to burn. My pick, if they improve half as much as they did last time, the Titans.
Blue: While in many minds the Young Guns might be the favourites for this one , a quick look at the team list of the Raiders will suggest this Waikato teams will provide an obstacle that will take some climbing. Many may have rated the Alleycats chances higher had Billy and Carlos been in the mix, but with a well balanced team they could surprise. If any opposition driver is stupid enough to be to much of a gentleman to Rose Halfpenny they will soon pay the price. My pick, Young Guns, Raiders, Raiders, Young Guns? I had better follow my heart and pick the Young Guns.
