Was 12 pts to win, 34T top qualifier overall with 44 pts, 2NZ 41 pts, 46E & 91T 40 pts, 4W 39 pts, 96A 38 pts......... So things changed again...... the cromwell website said 13 for the win. ....Their entry details for the championship said 20 for the win...... the entry form said 20 for the win if all spaces were filled Waddel and Stewart have been my picks for the podium for the last month or so, at early in the season at baypark Waddell showed his game was clearly a cut above the rest. And its Ray's home track which his recently revamped rear suspension which was obviously going to work for him

You are right Murray, the track improved over the night particularly in the second half of the night. I hope Phil wasnt taking offence to my comments as even the commentator stated that the track ( earlier on ) wasnt great and was difficult to drive on. It looks as though most of the cars that werent locals were caught out by having the wrong set up on the night and people that usually race really well really struggled. The exceptions IMHO were 81m, 34t and 91t. IMHO 81m was the star of the nite as he was so fast in comparison to the other non local drivers that he seemed to be passing cars at will. This is the 4th NZ Super Saloon meeting we have been to in a row and I left feeling a little disappointed with the first nite. Maybe thats my fault. I am sure that finals nite will be the success that everyone is hoping it will be. Congrastulations to those that made the finals and bring on the repercharges ! I would like to say that there were some nice touches last nite with the kids allowed on the cars, the big screen and the food available was exceptional both in taste and value. Our first time at the track, a great shape that adds some real challenge and a nice setting with people either able to park their cars on the embankment or sit. Roll on finals nite and a new champion ! Steve Aicken

34t raced really well as did Andy Erskine. Mike Verdona was unlucky last nite ( wrong place, wrong time ) as his car was flying when he was on the track and not caught up in incidents. The locals certainly had the set ups right and showed good speed.

its not about how many cubes you have, its about how you use them

This track was set by the 2004 New Zealand Super Saloon champion so that it would last the whole night.
It is a drivers track, All drivers got a huge practice session that allowed them to understand the track and how it would behave.
A slick flat track would have provided rubbish racing and desperation from the drivers and the resulting carnage that would have followed.
Brent Emmersons diff is more likely the result of the huge shunt into the wall that he had during practice.
12 super Saloon Races plus the shootout and the fastest lap times were recorded in the 2nd heat and in the shootout, if thats not an indication of a good drivey track then I dont know what is.
Those boys were awesome to watch and that was just the warm up for tonight !!!!!!!!!

Getting results out ASAP is clearly a job for a dedicated person for all significant race meetings in the future.
For the spectator like myself to text results, update via my lap top, in reality, is next to impossible if you're there to watch the racing.
I spent the first half of the meeting trying to fing a gap in the excitment to get a jacket - My wife eventually took pity on me and got it. For the second half I was increasingly desperate to use the 'boys room', but held on until the end.
SUCH IS THE QUALITY OF THE RACING AT THE SNZ SUPER SALOONS, CROMWELL!

why can not each track that has a Major event have a person to do this job . just like lap scores stewards gate people etc who do not see the racing at all it should be part of holding a NZ title or a island title
