Scotty lane put it on its roof all by himself avoiding 55s after ward spun out... Only buggered the wing.
5w (I think using 15w tonight?) rolled after hitting the wall and the 36a slammed into him getting some air. 36a ok..
Bunta got HUGE air at the start of his heat after going up and over the back wheel of a car in front, deflating his rear inside tyre, and ended up retiring from the race.
Something broke in the 1nz and he retired from a race, but was back again in the next..
as for qualifiers.. dunno LOL. I only know that 7 Naki drivers are through.
Get some pics up soon-ish...

Crowd not too bad.....
Everyone qualified basically...... except 1nz will be doing repercharge.
Standouts were as follows: Jamie Fox, Brian Jesson, Mark Dixon and John Jackson.
Scotty Lane did qualify 8th = and the top 9 from each group went in.
Thanks to Barry Brown for the update

QUALIFIERS no particular order although 2nz was top qualiifer followed by 4s and then 84c i think is the correct top 3 qualifiers on points
BLUE GROUP
4s, 6a, 11a (running as 211a), 21a, 29e, 41a, 67s, 67c (running as 17c) 121s
Top qulaifer was 4s. 67s had a dnf but backed up with a win and then good 3rd heat where made some passes. 21a passed chequered flag in heat 3 in a not so good looking cloud of smoke. 29e through it around, tryed the wide line here and there. 211a looked to be cruising and just content on qualifying as did 4s. 67c made it through but looked to struggle with the pace
RED GROUP
2nz, 3nz, 6gm (running as 16gm), 10s, 11s, 18r, 19a, 55s, 84c
2nz top qualifier from both groups. very patient and controlled driving and content to qualify. 3nz had good win from front grid in heat 1 and then looked steady. 16gm pushed all night and although looked bit loose here n there qualified easily. 10s had a dnf but 2nd and 3rd heat points helped him in. 11s good when track clear ahead of him.18r consistent and has improved heaps.19a scotty lane flipped it while trying to see what track had to offer out wide in 3rd heat (his words). 84c made it clean sweep for sth island entrants to qualify 4/4 pretty good going.
repercharge should see 36a and maybe 12s or 5 s off front.
1nz, 97h or 5w will be off back as dnf in first heat and then werent seen again. only half dozen or so cars in repercharge and top 2 to go through. 1nz could do it as when was going looked quick and aggressive
track breakdown s - 7 a - 6 r - 1 c - 2 gm - 1 e - 1

Sorry guys I didn't end up taking laptop down as it was too dusty!!!
1nz Tama broke a rocker in the engine, so thanks to some of the naki boys some spare's are around and he will be back for the rep 2moro night.
Foxy was improving and Dixon looking (my money's on him)
These two prob the quickest cars out there. Hope they get good grid draws both through on 31 points

Something broke in the 1nz and he retired from a race, but was back again in the next.. 1nz failed to front for the rest of the night, but should be on grid 6 tomorrow, and hopefully can make it through to second within the 15 laps. Garry Parker (21a) had no idea on the problem whhen I left, huge plumes of smoke but had oil pressure etc. Had lost all his coolant however.......

got a bit of footage last night using the racecam (from the stands), but forgot to set the sound up (had it set to run from in the car)and the sound is rubbish so isnt worth posting up, I set it up correctly just a few moments ago, so will try and capture the 3 finals tonight and post up, be great if i could get it set up in a car tho. ;D ;D ;D, actually sod the racecam, just found that you can upload up to a Gb onto youtube now (yea its been a while since i put anything up) so i'll try capture the heats on handycam

Then had a blond moment.. Jacko spining in the first heat. POP! Ward getting it wrong and going backwards during a spin.. Might get some more up later... Drew

Good racing, not sure about why they let a guy who has spun they drive closer to the track and "stall" forcing the orange lights to come on. That is what part of the cause of the last roll over was all about.
One other comment, Rodger the commentator. Can you please talk about some other cars than just Merv Julian or Jacko. All we heard in the first race was how good Merv was, that he was driving out of the 2nd corner etc etc. Then when he came out for the second of his heats I said to my mate "how long Merv is mentioned again" and blow me down as soon as he came out it started up again. Sure he might be a good driver but how about some history and details of the other drivers out there?
Interesting the first stock car race got under way before the flag man had dropped the green flag!!! They put the green lights on anyway.
