well since my prody was written off a season ago i was on the look out for a saloon, while there is plenty of choice out there i had a couple of bullet pionts it had to match,1;has to be a ford 2;it had to be cheap ;D
so i ended up with a cut up lovelady mustang chassis(not much as it turned out to be,but we live and learn) ;)some odds and sods, + 12 tyres, and 4 rims.
the orignal front end was badly damaged and cut off :(so i set about tryin to fix it but couldnt get it to work,,,,,,,,,,,so after several cracks at it(20 cutting and grinding discs later) i decided to copy somone elses ;D
so without much further adue here we go,trial by macgors aye ;D
anything with blue sticker on was put there by me,and yes my welding aint that flash but getting a mig greatly improved things ;D
the car as i got it ;D
the new bottom arms and control arms,by sjr
torque arm bracket by sjr,on diff from mcmoo, cheers
5th and 6th coils by sjr,im sure spring rates etc are all wrong but minor details at this stage
old rad and falcon fans fitted
control arms for birdcage and bracket mounted by sjr
left hand birdcage control arm and j bar mount by sjr,and yes that is the crown wheel mount you can see,yet to be moved.
diff j bar mount and jbar(not quite finished)by sjr
the brand new seat i swaped for some labour and what panelling i got with the car.
the only part of the orignal front i used, the 40*40 bumper
is this standard practice with the morris commercail diffs,?1 bolt holding the wheel assembly on(was like this when i got it)
i still got alot to go but, chin look forward, and keep moving
will try and keep this updated,
thanks to marty halcrow for the front springs and shocks,
greg mudgway(mcmoo)for the diff,
paul sammons for the hq hubs and stubs
and chris hadley for his books, allowing me to copy his front end and the rod ends, all lefties by the way,(beggers cant be choosers)
