a good time with a lot of others but not as many that used to attend this event chunkey! I don't think there are many organisations wanting to hire out a Dairy to put on an event!

We will just have to wait and see just how many people turn up on the weekend won't we, would think it's more of a financial hardship thing as to why people don't attend both nights than anything to do with intoxicated or people drinking. As for hiring out a diary as a venue will that would depend on how many friends you have I guess!! In some cases I would say a diary would be ample room for some

Really!!!! My god I cannot believe some statements that some people are actually making!!! We are living in the real world with real people, alcohol is sold at your local bloody dairy where ya kids buy ya lollies and ice blocks. If you have a prob with an intoxicated person grow some nuts yourself and let them know, if you haven't got any nuts then go and see security and bleet to them to do something. Other than that just stay home and watch it on tv or PC with your popcorn. The promoters do a great job and yeah they make some coin and good on them for that. I for one will be in the stand, I will be drinking , I will be having a bloody good time with a lot of others. Amen!!!!! Tell ya what I'll be up the back of the grandstand having a drink like me and my friends have done for the past 7 years and have never had a complaint. We cut out as much swearing as possible due to a family show but if we are a problem come tell us. Up prices of booze no get rid of idiots. This topic comes up each year and seems to be the minority ruining for the majority

Would be good to see Palmy drop the gate price and substitute that cost by putting up the price of alcohol, this may help it get back to the sell out days it once was. People should be going to Speedway to watch the racing and not to get drunk, and before you all say the promoter has no say or makes no $$ out of what gets sold at the arena I think you need to understand the Promoter isn’t a silly businessmen is he. Also if you wanted to hire out the venue and decided to hold a major children’s sporting event there I don’t think you would have to except the sale of alcohol their would you. Really!!!! My god I cannot believe some statements that some people are actually making!!! Why the hell should the non drinkers have to stay home or as you put grow some nuts and deal with loud mouth, and sometimes aggressive drunks? Non drinkers pay the same amount of money to get in and deserve the right to enjoy the show on the track without having to deal with drunks, after all, that is why we all go isn't it?

And what's your point then? Maybe have a designated area for drinkers and non drinkers? You go to the venue knowing they sell alcohol. So you make the decision on if you go or not if your a non drinker and don't want to be around those people.

....hold on, wasnt a can of worms... was a can of bourbon and cola LOL. Nelson had the WORST case of people standing along the fence line at the NZ streetie title. O/T I know, but the aisles comment up there jogged my memory. Even my airhorn didnt budge them.

Non drinkers and responsible and courteous drinkers in the spectator area watching the racing that they paid to see. Drunks in the bar where they can spill half their beer on each other and the floor, and not on someone who didn't want it to start with? Works for me, how about you

And what's your point then?.......You go to the venue knowing they sell alcohol. So you make the decision on if you go or not if your a non drinker and don't want to be around those people. I think their point is this; that is the kind of knowledge you take with you should you decide to go to the pub. It should not have to affect your decision to attend any sporting event through being a non-drinker, but with some people sadly it has done. I think it's for security to deal with anybody who is a problem, as it is a minority and the majority have every right to enjoy their weekend without feeling threatened. Discuss it by all means (although a separate thread would be a good idea as this one is about tickets), but the aggression some are showing here means they'll likely be worse at the track, despite the fact they're saying they are the well behaved ones. What obnoxious drunk ever realized and admitted he/she was an obnoxious drunk Let's do it on the terracotta, Barry B
