Is there a seating plan so I know roughly where our purchased seats are?

Seats on the Embankment have been sold as far round as turn 3 so if you usually sat on Turn 4 all these seats have now been pre purchased. Still Reserved Seats on the Embankment available and also General Admission An extra grandstand has been put in on the Northern end of the Grandstand for general admission No Dogs in the Arena property including the camping area off Oakley Street and car parks. Most parking areas are sports fields! Regretably it is probably time to do away with GA ticketing at this event. With the way they allocate reserve seating (ie keep adding after sales have started) it becomes impossible for people to know where is still available. When you go to Ticket Direct it only shows F Embankment (Start/Finish straight) but if Turn 4 has now been presold then that is section G! Also if these other areas were to be reserved seating from the start then people may purchase differently. All other events make it clear from the start exactly where is reserved and where is GA and sell tickets accordingly.

I can't actually se how they just keep enlarging the pre sold embankment tickets. They are still going to get the same number of bums on seats but i guess pre sold tickets for specific seats are more expensive and hence more revenue. Pretty dam cheeky really. Agree they might as well just get rid of the GA tickets idea. That would make it fairer and easier I'm sure

At the moment they are not forcing you to pre buy, but if you want the conveniance of turning up whenever you like and have your seat waiting for you, then you can do that at the moment.

I think your missing the point Ramjam. If you went in to purchase a ticket a couple of weeks/months ago (as we did), we were shown where the reserved seating was and obviously (at the time anyway!) where the GA area was. WE based our purchasing decision on this and GA was chosen primarily because the position we wanted to sit in was in the GA section. I now find out that the position we paid to sit in is no longer available to us and therefor we are now forced to sit in an area we did not want to. We were not advised at the time that the GA seating area was subject to change, and we planned to get there early to ensure we would be able sit where we planned. Personally I think it is very wrong and boarders on false advertising to advertise and sell us something that we cannot use as intended. If this sort of thing is going to happen then I agree with highway45 that GA ticket sales should be abandoned and only reserved seating sold. As highway45 stated, the only reason they would alter/increase the reserved seating area from what they advertised to me is to gain the extra revenue - with no regard at all to those who had already entered in to a contract with them by buying the GA tickets as originally advertised!

mmmm I see your point but they do it every year since pre sales have been "a thing" start with one block and once thats sold move to the next block and so on. It happens at all events, at concerts the next class of seats up from GA just keep selling until the day then they make the next row back of unsold is the GA. At standing outdoor concerts where they generaly have 2 or three classes of tickets they just keep selling all classes, untill the venue sells out, then work out where they need to put the barriers between each class of ticket, based on tickets sold.
In previous years I have brought allocated seats, but the first time i try it might only be the first couple of rows in the currently selling block, but I prefer the back couple of rows, so I wait till the next block opens. You know that it's only the terraces and grandstand they pre sell as well eh, so if you want to sit on the start/ finish straight you can, just get there early enough to sit on one of those stands behind the walkway, they ain't presold (except to the odd group).

Not a fan of pre sold tickets, the atmosphere before the event has died.
I have tried to sit in the same place for the last 18 or so years (most weeks not just teams) but it is out of the pre sold area, and have just about missed out on that spot every year since the allocated seats got added.
Also see that video hub has changed it's rates to $40 US for the the event.

We used to sit on turn 4 but 3 years ago moved over to start/finish so we can wander through the pits until 10 minutes before. Had no idea reserved seats were extended but will be looking forward to turn 4 seats again next year.

I don't see the problem with pre sale tickets. The group I'm in wanted seats. So we paid out money, got reserved seats in the grandstand took time off work so we can relax both nights. We do it every year. Have lunch somewhere near the square go to scrutineering then hang out at the persons house closest to speedway that gives us a chance to wander into the pits about 5 ish and have a good look around before heading to our seats. I think it's a great idea better than sitting waiting from 12 at the gate. As for the atmosphere dying beforehand ah no don't think so we always have a good laugh with some of the people wandering around the pits prior to the meeting
