I as most of you know have travelled away with Lance racing on numerous occasions where Mal has been the commentator and the one thing that has been missed in all the praise given and right fully so is that the drivers actually enjoy being interviewed by him because he has such a good relationship with all of them .Well done again Mal and Napier for what I unfortuanaetly missed but seemed a pretty faultless meeting on all accounts .

Agree 100% Barry. Well said. There is no doubt that word for word What Barry has said is totally correct and more. No one has more knowledge as to the insight of the make up and the workings of a Super Saloon and the history of the drivers and can tell the spectators some of whom have never seen a Super Saloon all the interesting aspects to hold their attention and to add value to some of us for updates on the class things we weren't aware of. Mal does not over-hype he just tells it as it is and his wealth of knowledge sure adds another dimension when ever he is on the mic. Unfortunately local announces don't always have the latest info on out of town or the other island drivers. Mal knows them all by first name. When it comes to a National title how long before we have a specialist team that will advise or take control of the event. There are so many aspects to running a title that a local club just don't have the experience or know how. It's not that they aren't capable but some committee's change frequently and may have never been faced with an event of that size and are completely out of their depth. Like would the NZRFU let the local rugby club at Eketehuna host the All Blacks -Lions for example. One specialist national title committee could say cover Super Saloon and Saloons and another one for say Super stocks and Stocks. That way their would be a consistency of the titles and all the pieces would be in place. And I can guarantee you their are so many pieces that most people would be unaware of unless you had been personally involved at a promotional level with years of experience. Just think about it, do what you always do and you get what you always have. or harness the experience and knowledge of some clever people and raise the level to the same extent the competitors have with world class race cars. Agree with all this Trevor, except one national champs organisation committee. There have been many great innovations introduced to championship meetings over the years, both what is easily seen and viable to Joe Public like a second (or 3rd) tier championship for non qualifiers. To behind the scenes things like the way prize money is paid. One central committee that might not change for 10 years MAY mean these innovations wouldn't happen. I know from experience the Thunder Zone in the welly pits at the superstock title last year was something out of left field that was very popular, and may not have happened without the local coming up with the idea

I think the answer to that is simple Rammers. A combination of the two, working together. The small centralised group passing on their experience and ensuring mistakes of the past on not repeated unnecessarily, working with local representatives who know their home track best. Innovation should be encouraged.

That group went under review. It gambling after all I'd be interested in what your saying David? so you are saying there is a review on the yellow group and if so for what reason.
