I'd expect the following North Island cars to attend - 2nz, 71a, 78a, 51m, 82p, 21w
Possibilities - 3nz, 88m, 4m, 66k, 84p, 73k, 22a, 18p
If my 6 "certainties" and half the possibles list attends that's 10. Maybe there will be a surprise or two I haven't thought of but 10 looks to be a decent estimate.

I though Jmac looked awesome on Saturday. Best he has gone for ages. Was good to see. Id love for him to win it. Is a top man, and is due. Cromwell can throw up some surprises. Will be very open. Is the duff man still running down there?

both Duff's are running well, though Jamie usually running better as expected. There are a number of cars from the south that will run good at Cromwell, especially with their knowledge of what is a unique track. As long as they keep their heads many can be a threat.
Percy was pretty much bang on with my thoughts on who likely and who possible entrants from NI.
Rodney Wood seems to have come back into form at the right time. He has been to Cromwell twice and won it both times, beating Allard, so you can not can not him out. Pickens will be right at near the front if he finishes.
The young american driver seems to running good down there and will be used to his car and team and has had a run at Cromwell already. I do hope the Dahm's manage to go down this time as they would go great at Ruapuna and Cromwell.
Stephen Taylor is capable of anything from winning to binning and everything in between, he was in the mix for a while in the last title race down south (Ruapuna)
Will be a hard one to pick.

Young American is Buddy Kofoid.
Copied this from Ruapuna facebook page were Buddy is racing on Sunday afternoon:
Visits by overseas Sprintcar drivers to Christchurch have been few and far between in recent years but one of America's brightest prospects Michael 'Buddy' Kofoid will make his Ruapuna debut on Sunday (January 13) as part of a month long South Island tour.
Kofoid, from Penngrove California has an amazing resume for someone barely old enough to hold a drivers license but the 17 year old is already something of a racing veteran having won his first Sprintcar feature race at just 11 years of age.
Like many American racers he started off in Outlaw Karts at a very early age, notching up over 120 career feature wins before moving into winged 360 Sprintcars. Many compare his accomplishments to NASCAR front runner Kyle Larsen, another who started his stellar career in 'small town' California racing in the karts before progressing into the 850 horsepower Sprintcars at a tender age. Californian authorities deemed him to be too you to race Sprintcars at such a young age , so he became a regular on the tracks in Washington, Arizona and Oregon then when he turned 14 his obvious talent saw him gain an exemption to race in his home state and he quickly established himself as one of the front runners finishing second in the prestigious Western Sprint Tour.
In 2017 he became the youngest driver to win the iconic Johnny Key Classic which is one of Northern California's biggest Sprintcar races with a 58 year history and last September he confounded the pundits by setting the fastest qualifying time at a World of Outlaws race at Chico along with winning a heat race and Trophy Dash before claiming pole position in a field littered with America's top drivers. A top five finish in the Gold Cup race sanctioned by the USA's premier Sprintcar organisation has seen him signed to race next season in the American mid west region.
Kofoid will be racing a car owned by Te Anau racer Daniel Anderson who has competed against the youngster several times in the USA. Kofoid put in two appearance at Cromwell over the holiday break with mixed success. His first showing saw him win a heat race with a blistering turn of speed and style, however an engine failure saw him sidelined from the feature. His second night of racing saw him notch up his first feature win on kiwi soil with a display that left the fans, and his opponents in awe. The American's schedule will see him returning to Ruapuna for the Gold Cup late in January and he will also contest the New Zealand Sprintcar Championship at Cromwell.

Luke Keegan, former 3 x NZ Modified champion has been winnimg Features down here this season is currently 2nd in the War of the Wings Series after four rounds, Jamie Duff leader, Conner Rangi (another young hotshot) 3rd. Jayden Dodge currently 5th in the WOW has also been impressing.

Similar to Jeff Gordon's start in sprintcar racing. If you get the chance read his book, it's amazing.. Might have to come for a look now. Better suss some dates. The kid sounds good.

yep...the kid is good, been around for a while now in Cali. Be a short-priced favourite to take it out I would think. Raced in OZ last year without any great success, of course the competition over there is much higher than anything we've got. Could have an interesting career ahead of him if he gets with a good team Stateside.

Im booking flights. This changes everything. I wonder how he ended up here. he is driving for Daniel Anderson who races up there on the upper west coast a lot over our winters. So Daniel would have raced with him a fair bit.
