Thanks for that Old School. that body looks good but I was more interested in your chassis. it certainly looks like it will do the job and it looks like BP takes a bit of pride in his finish. good to see. what are you useing for running gear ? can you keep us all up to date on progress as well please. cheers. Cliff snr.

Rule T12-1-6 (j) If the fuel tank is mounted at the rear of the vehicle, there must be an additional roll cage brace, at tank level between the two rear facing braces. Rule T8-5-3 Fuel and fuel tanks Superstock and Stockcars, the fuel tank confined towards the rear of the rollcage, or under the floor, the tank must be protected from impact-damage by the chassis and or roll cage. On the website www.dert14n.com in the photo gallery, pic 25/27 is a pic of a car with a wee bit of a hole in the body. it shows the tank very clearly. to me it complies with rule T8-5-3 but not T12-1-6 (there must be an additional brace between the two rear facing braces) which rule do we have to complie with. one or the other or both. to me it looks ok , the extra brace wouldn't do much. (protect the filler maybe.) is the filler classed as part of the tank ? this car I guess has been to a few meetings recently at different tracks around the country. can somebody (scruitineer perhaps) tell me how these two rules are interpreted please. I assume you mean this photo

here we go, bar in to help protect fuel tank. now abides by every rule. In regards to Dales car I can't see anything wrong with that. Even tho it doesn't have the bar that I just put in to cover rule T12-1-6 ( j ) it is still very well protected. Dale. I'm sorry your car has ended up being posted on this thread as an example, hope you gave permission and I hope you don't mind. cheers farmboy.

here you go. will have to do the wheel arches & we cut the front to suit but gives you some idea. Looks very nice Oldschool. Chassis looks as if it will do the job. also looks way shorter then mine, and I think the body choice is great, it's good to see something different. I had a suggestion a while back on using a HT holden ute cab thought that would look good too but as usual $ dictates it's cheaper to stick with the norm or what ever is currently made. Are you going to run as a super or a stock

I agree with you Rusty, the tank on Dales car looks very well protected, but does it comply with rule T12-1-6. I don't think it does but thats just my opinion. but to put a bar across to make it comply would be just stupid. Dale, sorry to use your car as an example but it's not everyday we see pics on here of cars with the bodys off. I wouldn't of found it if I wasn't a Tigers fan. Farmboy, sorry for getting thread off topic. Thats the last from me on this topic, hopefully SNZ can get the new rule book in black and white. To the man?? who rang me about this, get a life. and an unrestricted phone number.

Cheers Farmboy, unfortunately not as far along as your weapon.
The Bill Peat tanks are short and wide. Yep she's going to be a Superstock, In answer to the other question Gop47 Toyota, raptor box, QC. it will be budget Superstock for the first season, wet sump, I will forfeit HP for reliability while I come to grips with the car, bur that doesn't mean I cant have some fun

If I'm going to dial in the car before the palmy teams I would probably have to give Marty a miss & concentrate on some of the drivers with a bit of skill. ;D ;D ;D

Your tank is really looking cool Shane. Will be cool to see it out and watch you actually stirring it up in the superstock ranks. I hope you have it out before i move overseas but if you dont will have to come back sometime to see you in action. Good luck mate and catch up soon.

What happened to the mighty tank last night?? Half a lap, drifted back from the front of the grid, caught wide on the wall, drilled by Craig Burton, left behind a tow truck. Not sighted again. Hope Cliff is able to get back for the non qualifying races tonight and get that first lap under his belts!
