Put it down to new car blues.
Until its on the track you really dont know whats good, what needs remodeling , whats under-engineered etc...
Cliffs list of spares isnt that large at the moment either but with Dad (the builder) here for the cars first meeting I'm sure they will be doing their best to be there if they can

Cliff decided not to go back on the second night to give himself more time to go over things that we rushed on Thursday and Friday to get it out there. In hind site (aint it great) we should've given Friday a miss and just done the consolations on Saturday. But we wanted it out there because I wasn't going to be there on the Saturday so things got rushed and not done properly, hence we finished up looking like idiots. You're not to far away about the spares there Godfather, apart from 4 wheels there are none. I will probably pick the car up at easter and bring it back to go over a few things and get some spares made up. I don't know about it being a cheap shot wolsie, more of an opertune moment. if it wasn't 15w it would've been somebody else, you would know from your tank days that most people out there want to be able to say they killed a tank (aye Marty). I'm sure if Cliff sees 15w in front of him he will make an opertune moment for himself. Many thanks to 43w for the use of your generator etc, it was much appreciated, cheers. Nelson, you're onto a winner (but you already know that) with that format/meeting, when do you accept entries for next year. we will bring a car up with us this time. All the best Kerien, get well soon. That was 15w Cliff. 15w 15w 15w ;D ;D ;D

Hi. I thought I would post a little update for those who are interested. the damage after our attempt at the stock shock was repaired and were once again ready for an attempt at completing a race. With the car loaded we headed to the track for the meeting on the 21st which ended up being rained off. however we did get a race in and yep we managed to finish, not with out another problem popping up tho. this time it was mechanical. After lap 3 or 4 the engine started missing, it wasn't good but I was determined to finish so I carried on. We then went threw the electrical side of things replacing leads, plugs etc etc and still no change. so then we turned to the carby, stripping, cleaning etc etc still no change. then the other day it started knocking so then off the head came and to my surprise I found a nut in one of the cylinders . so obviously all along it was loss of compression in one cylinder with the nut being stuck in the inlet valve. I am currently repairing damage and hoping to fire it up on wednesday night. With all going well we will once again be at the track on the 10th for nelsons easter champs. cheers farmboy

ahh the elusive missing nut, its always distressing when you know you have lost one somewhere. lost one myself once down the carb, was never seen again but didnt seem to do any harm. great to hear the car will be repaired and featuring at the nelson easter champs.

looks awesome with the new body, well done and hope the gremlins are ironed out for you guys. At least a few practices will help iron out the bugs.
thanks also for the offseason update photos.
