Sorry ppl, I'm sick of certain members calling our young drivers a waste of time to watch!!!! Our young champs need as much attention as the big boys if not more they are our future entertainers of this sport we all love. Come on members give them all some credit where its due and Show them we care aye!! Is it that hard to do? ?

Im a Speedway supporter and agree every class has it place. A kid in a $4000 Ministock is just as important as a Top Superstock driver in a $100,000 car

I think most of us support the youth ministocks , just we don't like watching them too much . The way and how often they are put in front of us has an effect .

well ya see in the tour de france the young ones have come through the ranks likes of our own olympic champ Hayden Rowlston. So really they did get the limelight before stepping up to the big boys league.
No different with a 16 yr old ministock driver learning to drive and have some of the lime light too.
Sorry but comments like that is what dis heartens our youth of today, It happens all to much out there in the world be grateful they are in speedway and not in the car park ripping of ya car
Sorry if I come across strong on this issue
Youth of our Future are our Champs of the future

the thing that annoys a lot of people is that if I go to the Manawatu tennis champs it might cost me $2, more than likely free. If I go to the Aussie open I pay hundreds of dollars o sit at centre court.
If I go to the Manawatu youth ministock champs I pay $20 yet if I go to the Global Challange it costs $25.
I am going to be shot down for this no doubt but IMHO (and it is my opinion only) I thought Minisprints were the most pointless class in speedway, untill I was reminded just how pointless those dwarf car things are in HB.
I have skiped a few meetings over the last couple of years or driven past meetings because they have had two classes of ministocks and minisprints.

41ford is right - us ministocks ARE the future of speedway in NZ and i know that we may not be as exciting as other classes but you take a look at our lap times and we're not that slow compared to some classes... in fact we're even faster than some classes!

Because if you did (the speedway educated guru you are), it reminds us all here on Macgors how your posts are the most pointless posts on the forum.

Probably quite correct Dreves, but have you watched stockcars or superstocks anywhere other than Wacky Park? And would you say that you would rather watch Kiwikidz than Dollansky and Saldana in Sprintcars? I think our youth classes get plenty of exposure and support, in fact at times they possibly get more exposure than those they are trying to become.

Yes have been to Bay Park, Rotorua, and Huntly and seen Stockcar racing.
Sprintcars are the number one class in New Zealand and everything is ranked down from there. I agree if the show is good then the kids can have a lesser presence, however if the show is lacking Pallmall then sometimes the kids can help you scrape through, if you know what I mean....?

Aaron you may think that calling minisprints winged warriors and talking them up as the most exciting class around is fine, good on you, you know far more than I ever will and I bow to your knowledge and am in awe of your greatness

Youth Classes especially Ministocks are regardless of opinion are saving NZ Speedway's bacon at present.
most of the present adult competitor growth is coming from the junior classes.
They are, if you like a necessary evil and many drive with more conviction than some of our so called Stars of Speedway.........
