We now have many sides to what happened, but again i ask what is going to happen to the person Beatle named as throwing stones and abuse at him at a speedway track. never mind the action on the track, that has been dealt with, shouldn't the off track incident be dealt with too? I commented on the 64b hit a) because I saw it, and b) there is clear video footage to back up what I saw. I haven't commented on the stone throwing incident because I didn't no witness it. Pretty hard to comment on things here that you didn't see. But some people on here still do! Quite a skill in that I think!

looking at video in question... in my humble opinion peter rees only has eyes for one thing the hit on the stock car in front of him and if he crossed the pole line was a racing incident.... think if a car sits on green then pulls out is worse

stone throwing and name calling , thats mature, whats the penalty for bringing the sport into disrepute?? much more serious than an ontrack incident which has ALREADY BEEN DEALT WITH.

A couple of years back a crew of a Mod in ChCh got their driver suspended (can't remember for how long or exactly what they did) becasue they acted up. What has happened here is far worse. To actually throw stones is completely unacceptable. The car they crew for should be suspended or the crew concerned barred, maybe for the rest of the season. It's that sort of behaviour that makes Speedway participants look like knuckle draggers.

Good stuff Beatle you can admit you made a mistake and want to move on ... like everyone else should too. ( Basil included )
Everyone here knows with Speedway 'Sh..it Happens' and it always will and always has! About 4 or 5 years ago I can remember Mr Rees racing in the consiltation at Palmy teams and using the grass more than once to gain advantages to hit more than one person, strange how when people are so passionate about supporting their favourite drivers they seem to forget the times their hero has done wrong.
Funny that after all we are all humans and humans do make mistakes from time to time.

I was asked about the stone throwing incident at work by one of my colleagues in sport, I fibbed and said I knew nothing about it. Makes it dam hard to sell the sport in media circles, when someone who has no interest in the sport can find out about it from a friend of a friend, and then has to listen to me almost beg to get coverage for teams champs on the radio waves!

Perhaps rather than venting on here any of the parties involved in either incident ( the of the grass and the alleged stone throwing) if they feel either incident has not been handled correctly should be contacting the appropriate authorities. That way something might happen . Venting on here will achieve nothing ,Venting for the sake of venting seems like a waste of energy to me. That includes the supporters of both the concerned parties

I do agree with all above that this topic has done it's time, but as one of the more recent stirrers on this thread, I do feel I need to clarify a few things
It's rather obvious now that even the 'hero's' like Rees and even Miers have carved off a bit of grass in lining up a target (Miers at the teams champs many years ago) - sometimes punished and sometimes not. I still believe that each incident has it's unique factors, and as such, each should be delt with in the appropriate fashion, on the night as what happened in this particular case.
I have a tremendous amount of respect for all those out there giving it a go and entertaining us. Please keep it up everybody.
I simply would like to see less of the self appointed officials and historical guru's manipulating threads to suit their own arguments or hidden agendas. Leave it the the real officials or as carwrecker suggests - follow the correct channels of authority.
I don't have any problem with people voicing their opinion - indeed that why we love this board so much - but there are times when some need to gather up the tissues and move along.
Anyway that's my bit, no more posting from me on this topic - next thread....

I agree it's going in circles now, but in that case you lot that think it should die (read; be locked) should just stop posting in it, and it'll soon disappear. It's not really transgressing the rules yet, and if we locked every thread that got boring....well, enough said

Beatle,
Good work for coming on here and posting your side of the story, I wasnt at the meeting (wrong island for me lol) but i have seen you race and Greymouth and Blenheim for the teams. I think you are a great racer and have alot of skill. The fella who threw rocks at you had no reason to do so, I think he should be fined or barred also. (IMHO) Keep up the good racing and i think this thread should be left as it is and get on with the rest of the season!
cheers
