I'm sure the place will be ready coming opening night? ? I guess you need to ask the committee as to the current state as I have seen no working bees advertised like other clubs...... Guess the promoter is focusing on the other track due to opening last weekend???

I hope they use the main stadium as they wont have to spend so much money to get it ready for racing and they will still be able to keep a rugby / league field in the middle!!!

With the warriors on the move article in the NZ Herald today will they still make the changes necessary of longevity to make the track world class with better prep for better side by side racing and without the track taking out competitors and drivers spending $$$$ to fix their cars.....

After looking thru google maps the area behind the main stand would need to have new access made up and down to the track which would allow for the steepness to be removed. The area with grass embankment could be used for race cars to be collected and returned up to the pits and if a vehicle is not mobile then having a vehicle to return those vehicles to the pits so that the track vehicles aren't taking to long to return to the infield so that the meet can continue with out long delays?? Its the number two ground they plan to use not the main stadium I think they should re-consider that suggestion unless they the council will invest money to bring the venue up to acceptable racing venue. Where will the pits be as it looks like the vehicles will need to be pushed up to get to any pit area.
The main stadium is a much better option with seating etc already there with corporate facilities and very good access for all.....

I guess with talk of reform of the RMA on the cards with the Blues back for 3 more years........... I wonder if the changes will benefit WS???...... I know there is so much history that sits with WS and it can never be replaced with a new venue however our world that we now live in is always going to rapidly change whether we like it or not.
The most frustrating experience I have at WS which is a big put off is the small numbers of cars qualifying for the main and I guess that is all around noise levels..... I can remember the big fields trying to qualify and that was always exciting to watch and the drivers earned their right of passage to the final.
Is it really that bad that if we could return what WS use to be to the now with a new venue???.
As a motorsport fan I would travel a little more to a new venue if it was for the better of the sport and the meetings were like the old days!!
If it was the number 2 grounds at E Stadium would the council put some investment into it?.
If we love our motorsport like we say we do then we all have to get in behind and support it with bums on seats and getting people to sponsor the meetings and then we will win out of this....... Small fields? What class at Western Springs has small fields? And I would imagine that Western Springs at present is the most attractive speedway venue in the country in terms of Sponsorship and advertising with the amount of Sponsers the teams and venue has far and away out weighs any other speedway venue in the country. What I was meaning by small fields is the qualifying with the likes of tq's & midgets where there might only be 10 cars per heat which normally just single file racing unless the top guys are at the back. Once at the front its a precession..... 10 sprint cars is ok

where do they have drift cars? The tarmac area behind the main stand where the Supertop use to be? Pretty steep hill to push cars up Yes where the super top was behind the main stand....... yes steep to back push up..... isn't there another access road that would allow vehicles to get back to the pits? After looking thru google maps the area behind the main stand would need to have new access made up and down to the track which would allow for the steepness to be removed. It begs the question to use the main stadium and the area where the drift cars as the pits which would give great access to the track....... where do they have drift cars? Yea on the news the other day they said the Warriors would be moving to the North Shore.
It will be the beginning of the end of speedway in Auckland if the Springs move to MT Smart. They will spend all that money building the track only to have the exact same issues as the springs have with noise. Problem being there will be no historical significance at MT Smart to fall back on, so not even 5 - 10 years and Speedway will be kicked back out to MereMere / Hampton Downs somewhere, and then the crowds would be easily halved. The Warriors moving to the North Shore Yeah Right......... no way in hell, Tui must have wanted an add!!
With Bay Park & Palmerston North Tracks both having rugby fields in the middle of them this is a win win for the sporting codes and the council due to the facility being used more frequently and sporting codes not conflicting ie Summer / Winter. There in lies why we need to consider this...... yes there is no historical linkage like WS but if this was to be successful option would this not create history in itself?.

Stockcars and superstocks are contact sports and it will depend who qualifies and who wants to stop who from winning. Im in tab mode from work so im gonna box 5 drivers in each division. Stocks Peter rees jayden ward scott fredrickson Scott tennant gaskin Supers Wayne hemi jordan dare asher rees david elsworth graeme barr I'm pretty sure Scott Tennant has sold his stock and will be only running a Superstock so maybe if the car can take the hits and refires quickly they should be a quick combination and maybe feature up the front.

I know sometimes its a lottery to guess who's going to have 1,2,3NZ on their cars..... with Shane retiring will it be local knowledge that wins or will it be the drivers belonging to a club assisting in the outcomes...... if you could chose who would you like it to be???.
Stockcars 1nz 2nz 3nz
