From the Herald website at 5.50pm A 15-year-old girl has reportedly died at the Kaikohe speedway.
ONE News reported that the teenager died when the stock car she was driving hit a wall.
No one else was injured in the crash.

very very tragic, have spoken to someone racing up there , and most are in great deal of shock, thoughts go out to family

very very sad news to hear, my thoughts go out to the girls friends and family and to all spectators that were there, im sure it was not nice to watch that unfold.

Not what you want to hear. The youth seem to have some biggies yet are resiliant. Seen many a BP mini stock roll wildly and walk away.

Have just arrived home from racing at the glen in chch, jumped on here for a quick look and find my stomach turned upside down, I have 16 and 15 year old girls, neither race but I can only imagine how the family and friends must feel at this time. Our thoughts are with you for a tough time ahead and our condolences.
