Ok all you conspiracy theorists out there, I'm the first to admit I can be a bit thick sometimes and that is painly the reason I can't see what you clever fellas can all see.
So what I am asking for here is for a logical, well thought out and most importantly plausible reason for Palmy Speedway management to try and manipulate the results on night two. They pay out the same prize $$ regardless of who wins. It's not like they only host the event if the home team wins, The people are already there... its not like he is going to get an extra 500 ppl thu the gate if the locals sitting at home think the panthers will win.?
So take into account that the top two SNZ officials were from out of palmy, I await for someone to put up a convincing argument, and just so you know the standard "Palmy are cheats" wont sway me at all and no B/S about they had TAB bets on the panthers, cause I know for a fact the TAB would not have taken a bet big enough on a team that opens at $5 and comes into $4 to make it worth their while.

It makes sense to manipulate things to have the local team do well.
Much of the crowd is locals , if their team is doing well they will turn out to watch.
That's why it's rare for the Panthers to get a bad draw, the promotion need them in the finals to get the local walk up crowd along.
Does the Warriors league crowd drop off when the team is having a bad run?. You bet ya.
Do I think the draw was rigged this time , I'm not sure to be sure.
For the same reasons it's good for the local team to win as the locals will turn out to watch their team defend next year but they will soon desert if their team don't make the finals.
As far as the officials being manipulated this time , I seriously doubt it. I do suspect the penalty to the tigers out weighed the offense and unduly influenced the outcome of the competition but then I wasn't there and am only going by viewing video clips that can be deceptive.
Is all this grumping and groaning good , well I tend to think so . Plenty of passion means it's a healthy sport, no passion means nobody cares and the plug may as well be pulled.

The draw was rigged so that Nelson would be relegated - even a blind man could see that. They'll be a Paki side entered next year - they have 3 fellas with very little to do for 5 years already. They just need two more.... |

They just need two more.... At one stage, I am sure I saw FWJ driving with a knotted hanky on his head instead of a helmet - apparently too bright for the Poms on Friday night! I hear it's going to be an All Star international team Barry, three Pakis, two South Africans and a World Cup official as the sixth driver. |

What they do is determine the outcome of the Final first, then work backwards from there. This goes all the way back to the draw performed the weekend prior.
Any team that wins that isn't supposed to gets the old heave-ho by the corrupt officials and lap scorers. Things went awry last year when firstly somebody got their numbers mixed up and they DQ'd Hemi in the first race by mistake. And then, to make things worse, there was a wee faux pas in the second night draw which pitted the Panthers against the Tigers in error. This was originally thought to be okay, until the Tigers decimated the local contingent in the Semi and they couldn't find a mobile Panther to promote to first to rectify the situation. It's only when something as unusual as this set of circumstances happens that we don't know the final outcome 10 days in advance...

I know when we wrote the script for the NZ's at welly there were some who said we were dumb to script Dale and Richard 1st n 2nd but it worked out ok |

A "good source" tells me that from next year, the defending champions (Panthers, obviously) will only have to race the final race.
Bru.... I mean the "good source" tells me this is because it takes so much effort rigg... Uh... I mean "creating" the teams draw. Then the "promotion" (Or the Speedway Illuminati, as I like to call them) only have to worry about relegations and DQs in the final race to detirmine the outcome..

do the team captains get together and do a marble draw?
or is it behind a closed door within the club?
if it is then perhaps a team captain marble draw would work better...
even if its just a rep for the team to do the draw a week or so before the meeting...
btw i saw the vid and im gobsmacked why they got penalised so harshly..
it didnt look deliberate to me...oh well, heres to next year ae

The draw was done on TV and there's pages of macgor's discussion on the subject - and a deliberate pass to gain advantage across the grass has to be treated the same as an accidental one |

I cant find a rule that says, cutting the pole line is not allowed except when you are being pushed over the said pole line by another car and then it alright. |

did any body else notice that when GB raced against chch the lead GB car was being chased down the striaght by the chch tank and going into turn 1 the was a block car and another GB car and the GB car that was leading the race cut the grass and passed both car blatently to get out of a straight line from the tank??
palmy promotion support the GB team and let them cheat to, ha funny that.
also benston hit a car that was on the infeild, hit a car while he was driving backwards, and they turned penn round off the grass n back onto the track while under reds. none of them got penilised.
and did anyone see penns blocking in the race against wanganui, everytime a palmy car came round he would pull onto the iinfield, let his teammate past, then pull back onto the track and block wanganui cars.
