well lets get the pregnant dog session started about tonight's teams racing, racing was great, now the problems begin for starters the small water truck going clock wise around the track at speed and ripping up turn one,no water on the pole line the amount of dust was a health and safety problem not just for the drivers the staff on the in Field,to many staff on the in Field at the speed and the hits going on some one will get hurt, the refs taking to long in one of the races when we had a car on its lid to put the red light on a lap and a half is be on a joke come on guys wake up and don't make the excuse you couldn't see because of the smoke, that would cut it if another car had hit it,and for the towies on turn two in the palmy all stars race you don't pull a car away with out supporting the other car what are you guys cow boys, they may not be your cars but a bit of care would be nice

Hit the nail on the head there mate my thoughts exactly. Lots of attacking that continued on to grass as well that wasnt getting punished or we werent gettin told about it. And does anyone wonder how the that fence gets the ticket of approval from snz. It must a hundred years old with massive holes in the netting everywhere

Totally agree Firefighter, Think they got what they deserved with the buggy. Why would you park it so close to the racetrack. In my opionion the safeest place is the concrete pad in the middle. They still didnt learn because they moved that little scooter and put it in exactly the same place as the buggy that got hit (dumb as ).

yes very well said, also when you talk about buggy being hit, what about guy standing by the drum on back straight just before turn 3 , he asking to be hit, far to close to track for this type of racing, oh but guess he safe behind drum?
also you talk about fence not sure whether anyone herenoticed the on gate to track if someone goes in hard there they going to get hurt.

posted this on another thread but may be just as good here,
well first visit to wp as a spectator for a few years, glad we sat near rissa and crew as they gave what seemed a very laclusture and dis jointed meeting some atmosphere, thanks guys, commentry was crap , nothing between races sweet fa info coming out of pits, i could have done better job on a roving mike, but then any one with a clue could have, and then the roving mike only as helpful as the bloke controling the buttons, and im sorry to say mr short legs is had his day, on track action was good but overall experince of the night has left me wondering weather it worth traveling back up for tonight, guess will wait see how we feel at about 4.

oh and it all started off bad with the parade, it would have to be one of the worst ive seen, why were they not lined up in the pits ready to roll out there, why was it not started at 6.45, what was with the stoping for photos like they did, why not do like most others and do a lap line them up on infield have a chat take some pics then, skid pad could do with a wash also,

Some valid points for sure, particularly around slow red light when car on lid, and officials too close to track.
BUT, the first three races were some of the best teams races I have seen in a while!
Panthers, Nelson and mustangs all coming off second best and it wasn't for lack of trying!
Big bummer of the night was the supertanker blowing it's engine - it had been flying.

I too havent been to WP for a while, hoping things have improved , wife and I were disappointed in some aspects which I hope is taken as constructive criticism not just a personal attack. -Program was good with it all set out ready for points to be entered, however basically all we got was unconfirmed totals with the odd one confirmed from the commentators. By all means give unconfirmed totals but give confirmed ones for all racesl. Very Patchy! -Flag guy - a bit confusing on who he drops the flag for , maybe he could point at the car and drop the flag - no confusion then. -Little white truck slidng around the corners at speed didnt do the track surface any favours unless its a new way to grade the surface. -All teams do a full lap parade , park up in the middle and then take the photos. Longest team parade I've seen ...
All the things above aside, there was some good racing , still dont know how Nelson lost - need a video replay there. K Roberts The super tanker -Man! does that engine scream and it flew last night ( literally!).
Look forward to tonite!

So I figure I may as well have a go as well. Water Truck Drivers - Maniacal all night long. One drove the wrong way around the track with a child in the passengers seat clinging on for dear life. The other one drove through the middle of a 3-minute bell through a tight gap. It's a work zone dumbarse, someone could easily have stepped back into your path. Also drove far too close to the ambulance and accident scene after the Ministock crash. Start time - Can someone buy Bruce Robertson a watch for his next birthday? Support Classes - Ministocks and 8 Minisprints. Performed as expected. Teams Racing - Outstanding racing, well above expectations. Officiating - Very consistent. Didn't call anything all night long. Commentators - It certainly helped being a numbers person with a pen and paper. Little analysis of what was going on. Meanwhile I'm sitting next to one of the best analysers in NZ Speedway being Barry Brown up in the grandstand. Surely a specialist commentator could have been employed. What were the scenario's going into the last round of racing? What was the implication of the race result we had just seen? Overall - Thankfully the 9 teams races carried the show and provided value for money. There is plenty to improve on but lets be honest here. Most of these things were happening 5 years ago and despite now committees and new promoters it's a case of the more things change the more they stay the same.

Im glad it wasn't just me who thought that water truck driver was extremely dangerous. There was quite a near miss with a ministock as they were coming out for their second race.
Also that other truck did drive extremely close to the ambulance crew working on the ministock driver.
