When speedbox slowed down or stopped they claimed it was the old copper network in NZ. People in Palmy North reported a perfect video and sound last week. Further away from the main centers seem to be where the signal etc start to slow down or fail. The signal at Huntly starts ok then fails to delays . Last year broadcast from Auckland also slowed down and races were missed. I assume the new TiVo channel/program starting soon that uses the same copper network will also have similar problems. Broadband is slower than dailup from 3.30 to 9.30 pm here most weekdays.

Parts of Palmy do, not sure about the area surrounding the Arena, parts of it may have already been done. It depends on which street the Arenas internet connection comes out on.

It is sort of a shame that Speedbox came first as we all know what is capable. I got a 60" TV for last years Palmy event and it was amazing, but unfortunately VideoHub will not stream at anywhere near the same quality, so i am unsure if i will bother just watching it on the computer at that price.

The stockcar teams stream was uninterrupted here in Missouri, overall content/production not as good as speedbox but no delay or interpretations. The teams race coverage was great but I found the stockcar all in races a bit hard to follow as the camera was not following the same cars as the announcer. As far as the superstock teams pricing goes the market will dictate prices, speedbox could not sustain the product at the price point they had. Let's see how this deal pans out.

Those all in races were just plain crazy, even being there at the track it was hard to follow what was going on sometimes, especially when they put 40 of the darn things on the track at once.

There are definitely plans to do a few extra things with the big screen/live stream for the Superstock Teams event, but the aim is certainly not to make it a full replacement for Speedbox. That cannot really happen, and viewers do need to be aware of that.

Crazy and amazing that in among all that mayhem there were plenty that still found their targets and nailed them.

while speedbox was awesome , $40 is expensive if i was gonna watch it by myself , but ive organised about 7-8 of us to come round and watch it. probably will just buy a day at a time incase of issues, but now with a young family its much cheaper than spending a few hundred on the weekend

ass the place is booked out both nights you would think they have made their money and make streaming cheaper than a general admission to get a few more people watching streaming as it is extra cash they wouldn,t have got in the past.

Grandstand and Reserved Embankment are almost fully booked.

Bruce posted the other day what was sold out and what was still available - it'll be here somewhere. We get the "sold out" rumours 1 week out every year, and they're never true.

everyone will have different views. for me speedbox was a great alternative over the last few years and a shame it did not continue
I had planned to attend this year for the first time in a while with my motor home out the back - that was until some low life took my sigh in one eye and that option away from me recently.
at least I have an alternative option and I will be trying it so I get my speedway fix.
you quickly learn to be grateful for what you do have

I thought the reason speed box ended was because they were told they were no longer invited to steam the teams champs?
And if that is the biggest meeting t hey have that season, then I guess it's no surprise they "could not make it work" once they no longer able to stream it from there site.
You have to give it too the pn promotion- the no how to make there money out of there premiere event.
I think this is a good thing- as I'm sure they are reinvesting in the event, as this would have to be the first time we have had 13 teams.
What is great to see is the number of superstock teams that are now fronting up with all local teams.
I watched an awesome mma event last weekend, ufc 158 from Vegas on pay per view and that was 25 bucks. Hopefully one day we can see teams champs on pay per view rather than a variable Internet stream.
With any luck the additional cost will stop some people or mom purchasing it, and make the stream smoother for those who do invest in the offset meeting of the year.
And Peter o just read your post properly sorry to hear you have had some issues???
Was great to meet you down here at gm

Hope Im not over stepping the bounds but is there anyone in the matamata area that is going to be watching the streaming? Would they mind a paying/split cost spectator? Either at their house or mine (60" with surround sound). Feel free to PM, sadly just cant really afford both days but can't stand the thought of missing either.
