Pretty sure it's being streamed by videohub the same as this weekend, no idea what the cost will be although it was $20us per night for the stockcar teams Look at the right hand side of the palmy site for the link

even though the price is more for the supers i am still happy to pay that for video streaming of quality racing....
my only gripes for the stockcar teams stream was:
changing to a camera that wasnt dialled in on any cars zeroing in on some lard in the crowd for what seemed like an eternity
overall i was happy though... bring it on

we seemed to get more for less with speedbox. the price is starting to get up there for those on a budget, whats $33 us in kiwi $40ish?? and videohub is of no-where the same quality as what speedbox was, in all aspects. who else is starting to question if they will stump up??

we seemed to get more for less with speedbox Yep, and that was unsustainable I think this is priced so people who are undecided if they're going or not, will not be encouraged to stay at home and watch. (I have no inside knowledge or been privy to discussion on the pricing of the streaming, this is just a guess)

(or similiar)

I'm sure they (VideoHub and P/N) will be working to ensure the stream is worth the money (it does need to be jazzed up a little for that price I think). On the surface it sounds extreme when compared to what Speedbox was offering last year and what the VideoHub prices have been to date, but as Basil pointed out Speedbox was not sustainable and maybe this is the true cost of presenting something?

One of the advantages of watching the stream is that you can get a bunch of mates together and share the cost.

I understand why it's $40 a night, but I can't afford $80 for me and the young fulla to watch a stream. For the speedbox service however I'd find the $80 somehow! Have a limited budget and the NZ's in Nelson was my lot this year as far as travelling goes. I hope enough people do subscribe to keep it going though.

it would be good if the cameras didnt jump back and forth all the time..
for me being down south, $80 barely covers fuel to get to dunedin airport, or a plane ticket anywhere...

I will reconsider getting the stream. Prices are climbing at an alarming rate, and if we the end consumer dont do something about it imagine what it will be this time next year!! I think the videohub service is a $25 service at best. Cameras pan everywhere, audio drops in and out etc etc. Im betting Mr Robertson has something to do with the price hike though. Still time for them to readjust or for myself to get the local RC car club together and pay a buck or two each and club it out.

While it does seem steep for the quality of stream I have seen in the past I'm sure there would be an element in the pricing designed to discourage people living in easy reach of the meeting from staying home and watching on line. For me in Rotorua at the prices stated would still be far cheaper than the travelling down and then paying entry charges. Not as good as being there though. Personally I think we should be happy to have options and the costs can be shared by having a few friends around to watch with us. I imagine a future where our web cams will be scanning the room at home and charging our credit cards for the number of eyes watching.

I say quit the darn complaining. Hell we lost speedbox cause they couldn't afford to keep going. This is a start-up video service, so will be probs. Sure its a lil pricey, but if they can't make money, they can't improve service, as improvements cost money, and worst of all....they cease to exist if they can't make money...then we are all screwed again.
Instead of cutting them down at every turn we need to offer support in whatever capacity we can. From constructive criticism to actual on the night help if we have talents in that area.
I for one can't afford it either, but darn I am gonna come up with the $$$ somewhere. This is the NZ Superstock Teams champs. There is nothing better in the world..

i cant split the costs....dont have any friends i will however going out to buy a nice new tv so i can plug my laptop into it.. was awesome watching it on a big tv compared to the laptop... this streaming option is also good for families. the kids can go to bed at normal times and have dinner at home instead of dragging them to the track, feeding them up on garbage and having them cranky in the morning.
