I'm quite jealous of your welding. Looking really good. Out of interest how wide is the coffin?

I'm quite jealous of your welding. Looking really good. Out of interest how wide is the coffin? I made this one 700 internal... I probably shouldve done 800 for more pedal box room, but its just enough as is. I need to get hold on an engine lifter so I can get the mounts done. Believe me its taken alot of practice to do those welds.. Plus we have a great welder at work, 3 phase 230amp mig. I underestimated the amount of welding so far.yet to do the side rails.

Prepare for upwards of 100-120 hours of welding by the time you get to end plus your spares. Stay away from any temptation of vertical down welds. Impatience can set in trust me. Loving your diff job too. Nice work on finding out about those wee beauties.
Looking good Paul all round mate!!!
Stick with it!!!

got the motor in, mounts made, just need to trim them here and there. cut the firewall top rail for the lump in the head, that will be plated in. still need to cut the top rail for the carb.. ive got some ideas now for the pedal set up and radiator...not telling till its done. put the gearbox in, the driveshaft lines up perfectly, dead centre and level, just need to shorten it though. cant wait to get a seat in there.. my coilovers parts arrived today, but im still short of one coilover sleeve and nut.. these are quite nice, the springs are kings springs..just need shocks to set the three of them up.. anyone got a sleeve like these??

no pics this time...
but ive cut the top rail for the carb to fit in.. top plate of the carb is level with the top of the top rail.. have started making the wrap around rail for this
loving the progress to date...got some ideas in the works that i really wanna try..so gonna research that to see if will actually work or not.
once i have the radiator, pedal box, coilovers, steering box and seat mounted i will start fitting the extra uprights along the chassis, mainly in the front in front and behind the front axle. then the upper cross braces. then i can make the tank and battery box mounts, get a cage built with the roof plate and side plates...make a dash, fit the gear stick and shift mech then pull it all down, get it blasted and paint it all...
piece it back together and enjoy. well, after doing some work on the motor and getting it sealed of course... thatll happen while its getting blasted and painted..
