What would the Giants look like colours and logo wise?

Red id imagine and they were asking on fb or somewhere for suggestions on logo etc. Obviously preparing for team bodies if the need for them eventuated.

No matter if Auckland have enough cars or not. Would you rather have Auckland or Gisborne? Easy answer aye IMHO

There is scope for extra seating as there was during the rugby world cup. I'm sure I noticed some temporary stands in the back ready to be erected when we were in Palmy on Saturday. I believe the Giants inclusion will most definite bring extra spectator, there is excitement in Gisborne and talk of bringing bus loads of supporters down. More seating isn't as much of an issue as accommodation. Sure there was a higher capacity for the Rugby World Cup games w hosted, but most of the extra people showing up for those games weren't needing to stay in the city for a long weekend, whereas with teams champs, most if not all accommodation is completely booked for 3 or 4 days, so bringing in bus loads of extras from Gisborne isn't all that viable his close to the event if they haven't already planned for where to put them. I'm not saying the extra visitors from Gisborne wouldn't be welcome, because they would certainly be welcomed, but where the heck are we going to put them all

Yes that is true for the many thousands of us that go year in year out. But do you really think that they could fill buses of Gisbornites if they did not have a provincial team to support? Wouldn't the buses full of Foxtonians get there quicker thou.

I live here and I can name the 12 people that will travel in there own cars and have done for years to this meeting ... the Giants have a larger audience outside of the district. Not sure if anyone else has noticed BUT the Panther ooops ment Pumas :-) also haven't confirmed there entry into the Stockcar Teams champs ... it this coincidental ? www.gisbornespeedway.co.nz/calendar/2016-new-zealand-stockcar-teams-championship/

I would suggest there has been more activity since then.

With the giants not being named for the teams I'm guessing the Rees must be fully committed to teams at gizzy. They haven't done a lot of racing in standards this season. Are they even lasted for nzs.

If you mean the NZ stockcar title then no, none of last year's podium getters are in the 150. Jayden Ward was the only 1 to enter but wasn't in the first 150 entries from what was said in the thread about the stockcar title From what I heard from a crew member the decision will be made on Monday

Things have changed then as earlier on it was mentioned that none of the NZ numbered cars were on the list & Jayden was mentioned as entering but not early enough to make the cut Stockcars definitely aren't the Rees main focus anymore with it sounding like they'll leave the class to concentrate on superstocks after the stockcar teams

Call me fussy if you like, but why must so many go off topic. One of the favoured off topic discussion's of late has been the Gisborne Giants Superstock team, so here is a thread just for them. Of course with a Giants thread now, I'm sure nobody will be interested any more :)so I will wait and see before saying any more about, what will be a very good team. 8 pages later and 24000+ views

Was talking to Karl Ross a few weeks back at Baypark and he is open to teams racing for Gisborne if they need him. Karl Ross was at Waikaraka tonight. The 73g was absolutely flying - very impressive.
