I think Kerry won one of his at Stratford in 1991. Too true mate. Between the springs and ruapuna they have the lions share of title events to date. Next year must be back to the sth island?? Maybe eastern states?

Firstly, congratulations to Jamie. He was certainly hauling right from the start of the night. Spent most of night right out wide with his foot down hard on the go peddle with full commitment. He found that extra lane that Skinny had in the saloon way back when and even went three wide at one point. Awesome stuff.
For all the doom and gloom about how it was going to be a crash fest and the track was no good for sprint cars. The drivers proved the opposite and there was very little carnage and track had two clear racing lanes and as Jamie proved a third lane on at least one occasion. I thought the format was OK as well. Not enough cars for two nights and I think the deserving people came out on top. Perhaps the only change could have been three head races to decide the grid for the final
I liked the teamβs racers as well. As a member of the smash the P brigade it was great to see Scrappers and Warriors beat the Ps π.

Was thinking it's a shame the 1nz doesn't get a invite to the Knoxville nationals like the Superstock guys get to go to the World Final in England,im sure Jamie would do nz proud in one of the top teams.

Would be cool. But let's be honest. The 1nz would be pushing it uphill to get past qualifying. The kiwis struggle to make the A mains in Au...ler alone in the U.S..

Anyone know if commentary on an FM broadcast at Palmy? Nothing on website or in program (which is crap btw) Palmy doesn't have a permanent FM system, but does hire one in when the likes of Malcolm Sines are there and he makes them!! I know Mal is there tonight so I'll see if I can find out what they're broadcasting on. Barry B Hey Barry We've had permanent FM for the 3 years ive been there. From memory its 88.0? Spotted at another track they had the FM freq signwritten on the front of the com box so think I may have to ask if we can do this and in the programme aswell tbh. We plugged the number a bit before the meeting and early in the night. Will take the feedback on π€π½

Yes, it's a great idea to have it on the front of the comm box, also in the programme each week, AND mention it at the start of the meeting before any cars come out. Helps to keep the die hard fans happy. So long as they're looking and listening Barry B

The FM was in use, and was on 88.0Mhz.
I found it was good quality audio, and did not drop out.
Thanks

Pickens was fine, he is a very good professional and humble person.. He was still signing autographs for people after race and talking with people... While im sure deep down he was gutted not to win. he was fine. Pickens and his team are very good professionals. who set a very high standard and shows why really they are the best in the country (Professional, humble, approachable and talkative people) while he might not have won this race, he in my opinion is the best in the country in sprintcar and midget racing. Congrats to Jamie. Has had a good season. Does he still run the mini sprint? That snap of the crash looked big. There will be more damage than mentioned for sure. Just glad he's okay. Pickens wait continues it appears. Not quite good enough again. Was he gracious in defeat??

Is at the same level as most of the top sprintcar team's. He's the top midget racer in NZ currently that's not debatable. He's had his issues with being gracious in defeat in the past and I feel that comes from the competitive nature of his. Nothing wrong with being competitive but, you have to take the good with bad in terms of results.
