honestly, sometimes less is more. Quality over quantity. 12 teams is (assuming 16 teams is a bridge too far at the moment) the ideal number for the best format. 8 seeded teams get automatic entry. 1 promoters choice for when either GB, Panthers or Mustangs don't make the top eight. Leaves 3 or 4 spaces for the qualifiers how ever that is done. I'm not advocating abut any team be denied a chance to qualify but only the 12 best make the main show. Would I rather miss out on two teams races in order to see a far fairer and better overall event? Yip sure would. The draw could be done straight after the event every year. Winner to top seed group 1, second is top seed grp 4, 3rd tops grp 3, 4th into grp 2, 8th to grp 1, 7th to grp 4 and so on leaving one space in each grp for next year's event for the qualifiers /promoters choice. Sounds so easy to me, so that means it will prob never happen till I am the Prime Minister Which teams would you have not had there this year going on form etc? Purely hypothetical of course Easy. Whichever two didn't make it thru qualifying. That may sound hard but it's the pinnacle event, it shouldn't be easy. Not every team that wants to be at the football world cup makes it to the WC finals only the 38 (or however many it is these days) who qualify make it, but everyone is given a chance or ten to make it.

well said speedwaykitty, couldn,t agree anymore I’m gonna have to disagree with you here. The drinkers are often the rowdy good time atmosphere that we like so much. I for one will spend all day at the pub make a snake out of my empty cups and ring my cowbell with gusto and every year the punters around me mention how they dreaded sitting next to a Waikato fan but turned out to be a good time because I was respectful. Not all who drink will ruin your weekend some will enhance it with fun and banter. Unfortunately, you may be one of the few...... the last time I went and watched at the track, surrounded by drunk people, they ended up abusing a kid that wouldn't have been more than 10 years old ............ no fun for that kid on what should have been an awesome night. I didnt say stop the drinking, just have certain areas that are designated drinking areas - part of the grandstand, and parts on every other stands around the arena ..... after all, they do it in other sports

Be good to see the golden oldies out there again ,and some 44 gallon drums just for old times they have no mufflers and the atmosphere around the place would be cool as this meeting is about teams champs nothing else .Iam sure Dutchy and a few others could stir the action up .

Get rid of those bloody fireworks at the start of the race,Grand parade is fine, as long it don't go longer than 20 minutes, start racing at 6pm,ticket prices are fine, but I think these drivers need to be paid a heap more,Any one know what the prize money is? im guessing 10 to 15k to win it?

Dave Evans is building himself a replica of his no body car. I'd love to take a photo of The General driving past the full grandstand with the checkered flag.

What's wrong with 14 teams The way I see it we now get 14 teams races on night 1 bonus The format sucks IMHO, remember sometimes less is more Mordi, Less is more. have to agree with rammers there, nite one 14 teams,14 teams races WOW,But if the trend is the same as recent years teams are wiser, and on qualifying nite the hits are not as explosive, with a lot of wink/wink/nudge/nudge as one palmy commentator would say, drivers on first nite are doing enough to gain as many points as possible, with lest amount of damage, so nite 1 is always going to be quite tame. bring on nite 2 where it is win @ all cost, less teams, but much more exciting ,damaging, and plenty of the do or die attitude. also, the stockcar teams have got the formula right with a less gate entry on the first nite for a meeting which generally is less superior to nite two, perhaps palmy should look @ their own gate price and drop the prices of nite one

One of the biggest examples of price gouging is the cost of accommodation, some places seem to add up to 250.00 per night over their normal room rate.

To be honest the thought crossed my mind to go stay at my mates place for 3 or 4 nights and rent my house out, probably make an easy grand. But I didn't.

Do you think the council don't lift their pricing when ever they can? supply demand. demand bigger than supply. so cost increases. price to low in my opinion. what are you willing to pay? me ill stop at 120 a ticket. so heaps of room to grow.

Well I never say i ,m hear for the teams racing when asked by the Motel management i use another excuse ,and ask the tariff ,some have spare rooms at the normal going rate for passers by like truckies etc . Its no use giving the gifted horse a extra bale of chaff to chew on when he or she is non the wiser ..
