All these that poo pooed all this, 2nd heats done. Wanganui is just one of those tracks where 13 or 14 looks good. There has been some bloody good racing, Some good rolls, intentional hits, points are a premium with smaller feilds and the drivers are bumping and grinding that way.! Lots of bumperwork. If you ain't liked this racing then there's no hope. Bring on the 3rd heats! Not even one driver is certain at making it in at this stage What carjack said. Those who said there’d be no action because of the smaller fields were dead wrong. The action will intensify tonight with a full field repecharge for two spots then the big show. Driver of the night would have to be Kaelin Mooney with two wins and a narrow miss in his other heat when Josh Prentice pipped him by 0.018 seconds, or about two inches. Todd Hemingway had a really good night in the Group of Death and Hamish Booker’s new car is very fast. The weather’s great and tonight should be another excellent night. With seven V cars in the 24 qualifiers to date, we might see a local on the podium if they work together. Here’s the list of qualifiers: Top 24 qualifiers at the 2023 Sharp As New Zealand Superstock Grand Prix 1NZ Asher Rees 2NZ Josh Prentice 5W Keegan Levien 7R Michael Rumney 9G Jamie Hamilton 10G Peter Rees 16B Brett Loveridge 23V Scott Duncan 26V Kaelin Mooney 29G James Clarke 37S Shane Denham 38V Zane Dykstra 46W Ethan Levien 53V Shaun Smith 57V Dylan Marshall 82S Hamish Booker 85S Brad Uhlenberg 88V Josh Kahui 89W Dale Robertson 94P William Humphries 99M Todd Hemingway 119V Zac Harris 235G Regan Penn 971C Jayden Ward Two more cars will come from the repercharge tomorrow night to make a 26 car final. Well done everyone last night. Let’s do it all over again tonight!

Weather is beautiful today, got my spot all set up and I'm not the only one, looks like it's going to be a good crowd in tonight so I'd get here early to get your spot! Cars are starting to roll in already. There is going to be carnage tonight if last night is anything to go by.

"With all Warrior teams members in the finals it's looking good for V podium" "Yes they stick together as a team" "With 7 Whanganui drivers in the finals it's looking good for the V's" "This event will be remembered for years to come" Blah blah! Lots of hype and talk up from the commentators but no V finished on the podium! Yawn!

Yawn! Disappointing that we couldn't get anyone on the podium, but there were some epic performances this weekend, and not just from the V guys. Regan Penn flew under the radar; well done on a deserved victory. James Clarke shouldn't have to buy another drink this year. And Ward's hot on Holloway was a doozy; Max was the driver of the night up to that point. The track was sensational last night. It was ripped up on Friday night and when club president Daryn Smith saw it yesterday morning it looked for like it had been prepared for planting cabbages! Mike Johnston and the team graded, watered and wheel-packed, and on a cloudy, humid calm afternoon, they turned out a completely different track to Friday's one. The drive was fantastic, and in the first Championship heat Peter Rees went faster than any Superstock ever around Oceanview with a 15.902 lap. The racing was great, there were lots of passes, lots of blocks and a number of rollovers. As for the "remembered for years to come" comment, I certainly won't forget this weekend in a hurry, nor I guess will Regan Penn, Maxc Holloway or Zane Dykstra!

Kia ora Tony, I've always enjoyed my trips to Whanganui: - pit crew for an ex 1 NZR superstock - watching Kyle Fraser win the 1 NZ title v Wayne Hemi - other visits as a glorified spectator I'm enjoying life here in Christchurch now watching the Eagles win a couple of teams at Palmy and seeing the WoodFord Glen speedway grow in lots of ways. You're so passionate for your local club - keep up the great work mate! oh go the V's at Palmy!!!!
