I forgot to mention my son-in-law is cousins with Zane Dykstra so we follow his fortune closely and gutted for him. So close!

The Dykstras have that new Rees car flying. 29G was on his last legs with a fuel problem when he spun Zane near the end of the race, but even then 38V recovered a couple of places but needed one more pass to finish ahead of Asher in third. Zane is now the Warriors captain and his brother Rangi is one of the managers along with Cameron Jurgens. Contracting to Wanganui has been really positive for them and for us, and they are very popular members.

Just a suggestion, crash crew need some better equipment to get cars back on all 4s a bit quicker, not good when the old Landrover broke down, apart from that enjoyed the night, the two tanks having a friendly battle in the first Classic Stockcar race on Saturday night was really cool, boy Superstocks are fast now, well done to Regan Penn sneaking under the radar.

The delays in retrieving cars was frustrating . Especially roll overs That was a learning experience for the Club. All the Superstock rollovers cam from the new portion of wall, and in each case, the cars came down too close to the wall to be easily put back on their wheels. By next season when the new wall is continued all the way around the track (with the LED lights all the way around, we’ll have our systems sorted! @screaminv8 - thanks for your kind words about the newspaper coverage. The Chronicle will publish whatever we give them thanks to a relationship I have developed with them over about eight or nine seasons. When I sent an article in it’s been spell-checked, the grammar checked etc, so there’s a level of trust. They don’t pay for content, but are happy to have it provided, and I’m reasonably good with words so it works out well. I’m hopeless at anything mechanical though, which is why my contribution to speedway comes from writing and talking about it.
