With all the hype of Western Springs re opening and the north island championship contested last weekend it appears as though the NZ Championship and a standalone post has been missed off.
There are some social media posts - but they are as hard to find as a right rear that isn’t worn after a springs feature.
So - what format have they confirmed and who will be your top 3 and one drive outside the top 3 to shine?

Format for nz Championship looks to be identical Midget Title. Groups of 5 seeded drivers race 3 times on Friday Twice on Saturday. 12 laps for each heat with points accumulated Top 16 Qualify after 5 racs each . Top 4 finishes B main start out of 17-20 Double file restarts in heats and Championship final. last 5 laps being indian file if theres any incidents on track.
Interested is Joel Myers Jnr coming up for title ?

Talking to Joel at Ruapuna a few meetings ago and he said he was going to run in the NZ'S.He did race at Ruapuna last weekend in a very small field of Sprint cars.Of note he was put to the back of field in one heat for barging. He did come back in the feature to pass Dave Kerr on the last lap to take the win.Another with prospects for the NZ's

Pretty disappointed to hear only 5 South Island cars in field for nz champs
Potentially 38 cars 3nz (78c) 6n 19c 46c USA 57n Pretty poor effort from the mainland considering how much they complained about North Island cars that went south was around 15 to 18 last year and they complained should have been more

Cannot recall too many, if any, from down here in Christchurch complaining that there was not enough North Islander's that come down for last year's NZ title.
To be fair on some of the South Island drivers it was only in recent weeks that Western Springs was confirmed as the venue, I think other were seriously considering heading up for the NZ Sprintcar nationals but could not risk cost of boat crossings, accommodation etc the title was not going on this weekend or moved from the Springs.
Speedway NZ could not give a definitive answer as to want was going to happen if Western Springs could not host the title this weekend.

There were plenty of people complaining not many north cars how ever if 5 cars could manage it I'm sure more could have how ever 46 USA and 3nz are probably only 2 in with a chance come Saturday pretty sure the usual suspects will dominate this one Pickens Thomas allard cooper as a dark horse to podium 46 USA 1st south car home 3nz not far behind Cannot recall too many, if any, from down here in Christchurch complaining that there was not enough North Islander's that come down for last year's NZ title. South Island pop ~1 million, north Island ~4 million, so 4*5 gives 20, so NI was a little lite last season

And Connor Rangi 57n who at times has been setting the place a light with some of his blistering performances and track records . He has a good team behind him and JA ,P Murphy not shy to give advice i am hoping he makes the podium . Great entry list Magilla ,was it Schoolboys or Cowboys ,you mentioned they seem to go together .

After bad luck in his first heat of the North islands it would be great to see Connors luck turn around.Joel Myers jnr and Connor have put on some epic races in the South this year. Also to Jamie Duff and Matt Leversedge they are not out of contention either. If i had to pick one out of the cars from the South it would be Joel.

Really looking forward to this title.
The level of talent in the field is deeper than the Sprintcar class has ever been. Every race is going to have multiple points of interest on a track that is challenging yet rewarding for the class.
We are going to see contenders fall by the wayside over the two nights and only the most brilliantly consistent will be there at the end. With what should be near capacity crowds on both nights this title has huge potential.

Hopefully they work the top down lower than last week as it was too high to work.
This is my 38th NZ Sprintcar Champs so I will see how it lines up

Get the water truck out now.The track is bull … In field is a dust bowl track not much better. These are sprint cars not stockcars. The track allows o passing or visibility
