Well I cant believe nobody has mentioned these guys ! Wanganui Vulcans 11v Malcolm Barron 22v Gerry Linklater 33v Tony James 44v Dion Mooney 55v Allen Levien 66v Francis Potaka Reserve Driver: Josh Kahui Manager: Allan Luoni (MoonGoon) ...perhaps they are not being considered a threat? Foolish minds would be those to write these boys off. Go the Vulcans, heres to the next NZ Stockcar Teams Champs, and 2009 at Oceanview!, gotta love that first corner!

Quite a team alright. Current 2NZ, Current 2NI, with Gerry and Tony, not to mention the other titles they have both recently won. In Alan Levien and Dion Mooney we have two of the most respected teams racers around. Mr Barron has shown many times he knows his way around a stockcar track and how to read a race accurately. Woe to any one who gets on the wrong end of a Francis Potaka hit. Even the reserve, Josh Kahui, has gone from strength to strength this season and is one not to be trifled with.
All round a pretty impressive looking team on paper and I see no reason why they can't be even more impressive on the dirt.

Trouble is the Vulcans and the Maulers are in the same group. Maybe they will win the Plate and the championship between them.

Quite new to this forum. And not too minded on the NZ stock car scene (being from the UK 'N' all) Is it whoever wins the teams champs will then host it the next yr at their home track??

That is correct mate.
For the Stockcars, the winner of the Teams Champs host it the following year from there region.
The Superstock Teams are annually held in Palmerston North in February, also Auckland in March.
