When you look at Dean Brindle's performances this season so far, on a number of occasions he has started at the rear of the grid and finished well up in the final placings. This has been in full fields of sprintcars and he has finished well up in the placings on a variety of track conditions and race formats eg - WS Nov 8 Feature Grid 5 Place 1st NZ Race Format WS Nov 29 Feature Grid 17 Place 3rd NZ Race Format WS Dec 6 Feature Grid 14 Place 3rd US Format The Dec 6 meeting being the NI Sprintcar Champs At the end of the day if a driver is good enough he will win regardless of the format

Roll on tonight, Auckland weather is fantastic today. Can't wait to see another great Midget show, and there could be a bit of Sprintcar action as well.

Should certainly be a good night..........I hope series defending champion Greg Pickerill is all repaired and ready to rock. He failed to clock a time at Palmy and only managed to get up to 6th in his heat, the top 5 transfering. He then crashed when making his way through traffic in the C Main, hitting the wall quite hard.

if you write something that drever does not like he deletes it and I will have to write something up and put it on notice/results board. let see if this disappears as well.

Put it up here David, Mr Drever won't delete it unless you have a personal attack on someone. If you state facts make sure they are accurate

Well there's certainly the suggestion a report on last night's meeting vanished. I hope that's not the case............
Like many, I'm interested to hear what happened in Rd. 3 of the Sprintcars last night.

Not sure of all the details but there was a huge crash in the first lap of the A Main / Feature. Dollansky and Allard? on pole had a coming together and the rest of the field ran into them or crashed trying to avoid the pile up. Skinny rolled. Won by Joey Saldana, then Carl Wilson with Ricky Logan in third. Track very rough.
Dollansky was flying in the Dash almost lapping some of the top cars.

Sorry correct results were 9USA Joey Saldana, 0USA Jonathan Allard, 10A Ricky Logan, 71A Jamie McDonald and 1NZ Carl Wilson was 5th. Then 35A Hans Boere, 5USA Billy Rose and in eighth place 24W Marty Halcrow.
Good results for McDonald and Halcrow who often seems to be in the middle of the carnage!
Excellent crowd and they are back again at the Springs on January 3rd for the final round.

Was a good night despite a couple of problems. There was a glitch in their computer/timing system, and the track was perhaps over watered which saw a few holes and ruts occuring through the night. Wasn't dusty though! Time Trials had to be hand timed, which resulted in a few raised eyebrows. Mark Brown fast timed, which was the kiss of death, because he only found the wall in his two races. The feature, which didn't start till around 10:10 had to restart after Brown hit the wall in Town on the first lap, the next restart saw McMahan (on the front row) spin coming out of Pine Tree on the first lap and stop in the middle of the track facing the wrong way. A few of the leading bunch missed him and then it was a train wreck with about 7 cars wrecked, Skinny Colson rolled over the top of the carnage. Next start saw Dollansky, Saldana, and Allard going for it, Saldana dropped back with a problem and Dollansky dropped out with a rear end problem. Allard was leading, and about five laps from the end hit the rear of another car going into Town and damaged his front wing and front end, another lap and his right front went flat. He kept going with dirt flying into the crowd until the end, but was just pipped on the line by Saldana who kept a not 100% car in the hunt all night. Result: Saldana, Allard, Logan. Some good racing from Carl Wilson and Jamie McDonald on what was a very rough track that was a bit slick on the Town end and quite rough and drivey on Pine Tree. Pickens won the Midget feature from Carl Worboys.

lap scoring broke down as 1st two Sprintcar of 7us and 9us doing hot lap so they had a huge break in program when they decided to do it manually they were left until end.
0usa was aloud to fly around in A-Main with flat right front for about 3-4laps spraying lumps of clay in to crowd, held lead to last bend on final lap.
track in the bends was as ruff as
was good to get back to western spring but left a little disappointed on how things went
all i said in posted deleted is that western sprint is human too and i looked forward to percys view after huntlys one, but may have to wait a while as he heading for wellington.

Looking through the security log I can tell you no posts were deleted from this thread . One thread was removed from the open wheel board at 12.19 am this morning by Aaron but I don't know what that was about .
