Im Dave, have been going to the springs since 1967 -admittedly i was in a pram for the first couple of those years.
Absolutely lived for speedway as a kid, and cant shake the habit!
Involved with dirt karting nz (www.dirtkartingnz.co.nz) helping grow the sport of speedway & stockcars right from the bottom- plenty of the drivers enjoy a strop around on the dirt to shake off the cobwebs .
My bucket list- well im 43 and always wanted a run at the springs in a midget..like to buy a decent TQ and race competitively but with the sheer fun of racing first and foremost.hell why not! a chap in his 70s bought an F2 and is liven the dream at Western Springs-and bloody good on em.
Got three boys all racin karts,and i think two of them are eying up 1/4 midgets- anyone got a trailer for 3 midgets!!!

Hi all as you can probably tell I'm from the UK my names Eddie and I'm a massive short oval fan mainly brisca F1/F2 stock cars but love anything that races on the ovals! I work as track staff at Coventry stadium over here in England!! I really love the kiwi speedway scene mainly the superstocks and stock cars also the NZ modifieds and the midgets are amazing!! I follow it on speedbox that's a great service as it's great to watch the big events live. I am planning a trip down to New Zealand in the next couple off years to watch the superstock teams! I love seeing our drivers out there and am hoping that team GB will go one better this year they have the talent with Frankie Wainman Jnr and Tom Harris. Glad that I joined up as this is the best place to get up to date with all the kiwi action.

Hi my name is Rodney and I'm a speed addict.

I was born into a family of motorsport addicts, my parents raced (father a B grade TQ, mother something on that surface you use to get to the real racing.) My oldest brother races karts (current open dirt champion) and has done a stint although not with the greatest result in a sprintcar.
I bit the motorsport bug young at Western Springs, watching Bryce Collings take on the might of the rest in his old Autocraft Paw Chassis Midget.
Since then I have crewed for sprintcars for many years and have competed in Rallying as a co-driver For Chenyee Booth, Bruce Brooks(long live the Pink RX7!) and Mark Pederson.
I caught the rallying bug after spending many years as a Radio Communications officer for Rally New Zealand and The Top Half series, after gaining my Amateur Radio license at 14 years old. Watching the likes of Colin McRae, Carlos Saniz and Tomi Makinen Slid past your radio point doing in excess of 160 kph, makes you wonder whats its like being in the car, i can tell you *&^%$&^ awesome!

Giday Im Mike, Married to Tesh.. Most ppl know me as lippy an avid speedway fan based at New Zealands #1 speedway facility woodford glen.

At present my days are spent doing odd jobs around the house since the Earthquakes..
I enjoy most classes especally superstocks and super saloons & stockcars.

Love meeting new ppl especally the drivers and making friends at the different tracks, and catching up with some of the regulars from outta town and up North.

hi there old speedway head here , grew up watching dad an his mates in the dawn of the top of the south speedway then started racing streetys after a couple of years of misspent youth for about 7/ 8 seasons on an off with a couple of short stints in super stocks 56n 13 n , went did oe now back in nz living on best coast racing std stock 19 gm. seriously addicted to this sport ... just wish i could actually drive

hi im scott brenchley from gisborne, been around speedway a bit i think my bug was caught off my uncle in napier niel dorwood who use to race tq's back in his day. We also had a production saloon some of you from the bay may remember a yellow volkswagon beetle 53g that we bought thru a few times when we were trying to promote the class. Some may also know my oldman Rick Brenchley who use to comintate at the gisborne and sometimes napier track on the odd occasion.
I am currently building up the ex damian elley ss into a standard stock which i will be running out of gisborne this season.

Hi all Name is Travis Ryan. Over my years Ive done 8 years in motor cross (but ended that after to many broken bones) So went and pit crew 3 season for a couple of Superstocks in Rotorua then i got itchy feet so i brought my own Stockcar (as i couldn't afford a Superstock) i loved every bit of it (did 7 seasons) but then my wife got a job over in Aussie (Gold Coast ;D) Back in Auckland now going to sit in the stands and mite get another stockie

Hey I'm Paul, I'm from Lincolnshire in the UK. I'm a stock car fan and follow the F1's over here up and down the country pretty much every weekend.

I came over to your fantastic country in 2009 for 3 weeks to watch the NZ champs (well tried to watch these, but got rained out) and the Team Champs. Enjoyed it soo much I'm coming over in Jan/Feb next year again for the NZ and Team Champs (and maybe the 248's if we can get there) - and bringing 2 first timers with me!

Have to say I'm already looking forward to coming and cheering on Frankie and the boys and our season hasn't even finished yet!!

Hopefully have a few laughs on here before i come and maybe meet one or 2 of you for a drink or 2 on our visit whilst watching the Poms on their way to glory!
