Thought its about time i wrote something in here... Quick nutshell about myself: Supersaloons by far my favourable class, but also enjoy Sidecars, Saloons, Modifieds, Superstocks and Sprintcars. Been involved with motorsport most of my life, family used to race midgets, old mans in drag racing, my cousins very well known ex v8 supercar driver. Ive been more involved in tarmac racing, but chuck in a bit of motorx. Really enjoy the quad atv scene aswell. I work for one of nz biggest/well known companies, climbing the ladder up the corporate chain. I gave up the suit n tie recently and now giving operations a go paticularly in supply chain management and based between Auckland and Melbourne at the moment. Im still closely involved with sales/marketing so ive retained partial involvement in sponsorships we provide around the country, from a speedway perspective we currently support some tracks but im also pushing at scoping out to drivers. Well thats enough for now Cheers

Gidday my Name is David Anstis...(easy one that) I have been involved in & around Speedway since I was about 14yrs old I think from memory. I have done a little bit of everything & not much of anything... I have done bits & pieces of motor sport in all sorts of forms. Did a couple of rally sprints, hill climbs, HB Car Club circuit meetings...I started going to Speedway with mates who had parents & uncles racing & fell in love with the whole concept. I really got involved when I met Steve Flynn through my nephews best mate Grant Flynn. It was a real steep learning curve trying to take in everything that was involved, but it was awesome time as well. I went on to crew for Andy McCabe for a few years & was lucky to be able to help (or hinder) in the first SuperStock build after he sold his chassis (ex Bryce Penn) to Regan O'Brien. I learnt heaps off Andy & spent many hours at his place on cold winters nights watching & learning & lending a hand where I could. I first raced Speedway when I raced a Dwarfcar (Kiwilite) when they were in their infancy many years ago. I had no idea what I was doing & lucky for me Andy came along & gave me a hand to set the car up & try & get it to go around corners....I ended up selling the Dwarfcar feeling a little despondent about the whole thing. Seemed like a lot of money for little return. I turned my hand to karting & really learnt all about how to drive & set a racing machine up to get the best out of it. I did reasonably well & was steadily improving all the time with some results & the odd trophy...but due to being made redundant I had to sell up. Next chance I got to go racing was when I went to Streetstocks, mainly because a lot of my mates were racing them & everybody seemed to be having such a great time. I came in at the back end of the season, but still managed a win in the best pairs, 4th East Coast Champs. Unfortunately I fell one meeting short of being able to do the NZ's the following season. But due to our boys growing up & needing more funding for their sports I decided enough was enough & pulled the pin. I did get a track day car, but found it wasn't me & that my passion is the dirt. I have been involved with the Meeanee Club at differing levels as well as two seasons with SNZ (once again work commitments put the stoppers on this). I also write for Motor Sport Central & NZDTR on behalf of the HB Club quite a few years ago. I was lucky to get to see other tracks by hitching a ride with the Flynn's....probably explains why my spiel is so long & drawn out. Linda Kuriger used to ring me & ask me to shorten my articles all the time....lol I have continued to be involved & have crewed for a couple of mates when needed over the years...but I have been crewing for James Tollison for the last two seasons with youngest boy Tyler 13yrs old & have thoroughly enjoyed myself. James & his whole family are great people & make my Speedway experience really enjoyable.....although Paul Tollison has been talking about a ministock for Tyler...hahaha ;D ;D ;D

Hi my name is Shane Spring, I am a long time lurker on this board for far far far too long.... have been a speedway fan for as many years as I can walk. From Nelson so support Tigers but live in Pukekohe and work in Huntly making electricity. All speedway is good, but contact classes are the best of the best. One day I will be able to convince my wife to sell the kiddies and buy me a stockie.... or I will just start building one and hope she doesn't notice.

Pirate Racing NZ. Used to be regular spectator at Waikaraka many, many years ago. The wife has a few famous speedway personalities in the family. Was not born here so not much family. Was hugely into bikes until kids come on the scene. Live on a boat, work in the trades and crew for a saloon. Started building own saloon three weeks ago and trying to keep a blog going on facebook. Love all classes bar ministocks (sorry, nothing personal) but superstocks are at the top of the list followed by saloons. Go to every major meeting we can and even some across the ditch. Bring on next season to put some dust in peoples eyes myself. Have driven 250,000 hp ships and flown helicopters and airplanes. Hope to contract to Rotorua next season if I get the car done.

My name is Colin Moss and I've been following UK F1 stock car racing for over 40 years. I visited NZ in 1999 for 6 weeks and enjoyed NZ stock cars at Upper Hutt in North Island. For over 30 years I have made scratch-built models of UK F1 stock cars all of which are painted and signwritten by hand - no computer graphics involved. Many of these models are pictured on my website, Making Stox History at www.mossmodels.co.uk which promotes the 57+ years heritage of UK F1 stock cars. It is not a commercial site and I don't make models to order. The only NZ stock car in my collection is the gold top NZ55r car of the UK's Frankie Wainman Jnr. The centre piece of my collection are all the World Championship winning cars from 1954-2011. If you are interested in learning more about F1 stock car racing in the UK, log in to my site. I'm always pleased to receive any comments and observations about the website and I'll do my best to respond to any questions you may have about the sport. The Superstocks Team Races in NZ have caused great interest in the UK thanks to the reports on the GB Lions successful trips over recent years. I'm planning to add a feature on NZ Team Racing to my website and have requested information to assist me on the Discussion Forum on the Macgors site. It is always a pleasure for UK stock car fans to see NZ stock car drivers in the UK competing in our annual World Championship and other stock car meetings. Peter Rees and Scott Miers spring immediately to mind as very entertaining and competitive drivers even on tarmac surfaces that are uncommon in NZ. Hope you found this brief introduction of interest. I'm hoping to travel to NZ over the next couple of years to watch the Superstocks Team Racing and the GB Lions at first hand.

Hey my name is Jayne, I pitcrew for my partner Reece in 25H Saloon. (was 25H Super Saloon last season till the engine blew at Waikaraka ). I have been going to speedway since I met Reece and the legendary Johnny5 (his dad) rang us up and said do we want to go out to speedway at Kihikihi for the day. I said what's speedway . After that day I was admant I wanted to race a streetstock hehe, I did my first demolition derby last season (I came third ;D)...no I don't want to race a streety anymore lol but I am so going to do another derby! That was about 5 and a half years ago my first speedway encounter, I have been pitcrewing for two seasons now and begging Reece to take me when we aren't racing ;D. I love all things motorsport and also do some art in my spare time (5am before work hehe).

G'day, I'm Dan, I'm a HIAB driver, I've been a lurker around these boards for a little while now and a long time speedway fan. I don't have a mechanical background, but can pick most things up pretty quickly and would be interested in crewing for a stockie for a season or two, with a view towards buying a car myself and giving it a go!

Hi, my name is Daniel and, I'm 21 and have been going to speedway since I was a wee lad. I have had recent success in ATV quad bike racing on a national scale gaining numerous podium placings at regional and NZ titles. I'm a huge fan of the Super Saloons and its fair to say I'm extremely passionate towards the class. Growing up with the class, SNZ can be very proud to have such a huge group of talented drivers who have had such a positive influence on my interest in this class. Dean Waddell, Skinny Colson, Martin Halcrow, Shane Mcintyre Lance Jennings, Blondie Chamberlian, Kevin Moore, Craig Richards, Paul Carter, Dennis Bolt, Tony Cardwell, John Scott, Maurice Cowling and the Pierce Brothers are just a few who have showcased their talents keeping my long remaining interest alive. I like to travel extensively to watch these guys/girls on a regular basis throughout the Speedway season. This class never fails to deliver in terms of action. The caliber of drivers and the evolved machinery are what make this class the spectacle it is today. I someday wish to race a saloon (given the opportunity) or when funds allow, as this would be an absolute dream of mine. I have had a few drives in a minisprint and thought that was pretty neat!! I also enjoy sidecars and Modifieds both offer their share of thrills and both I follow regularly also. I live breath eat feel Speedway and this isn't about to change anytime soon! You can find me anywhere from Rosebank Rd for the bikes, to WP (local track) even as far as Baypark or Meanee. Waikaraka and Baypark are my two favourite tracks. So if you see me around don't hesitate to come say hi I am always open to meeting new peoples and enhancing my group of friends in the Speedway Community Cheers Daniel Hickman

"scratchypete" from Kerikeri.
I am getting close to 50, spent my youth supporting Western Springs Speedway and Waikaraka Park before heading North.
One of the very lucky ones that can remember those great days watching the likes of Ivan Mauger, Ted Tracey "et all", strutting their stuff.
My wife and I are avid followers of NHRA Drag Racing and any Speedway action we can get our hands or eyes on.
Kaikohe Speedway is our local track and enjoy all the action the locals produce. Of course we are lucky to have the likes of Ray Jordan, "Mad Max" Andresen and John "The Hustler" Hussey racing out of there. Its a great club which pulls drivers in from around the country. We also make trips to other clubs whenever we can to get our "fix".
"Methanol should be bottled and good sportsmanship is the sign of a true champion."
I say it how it is, not scared to pull a punch, but am extremely gratetful to all you drivers who give us such great entertainment in these times of tight economies and little in the way of spare change for sponsorships.
Thank you Speedway for the many, many years of thrilling entertainment you have provided and long may that continue...

hi my name is tim smaill,i am 26 and from Dunedin and have been going to speedway since i was 2 and my favourite grade is streetstocks. I pitcrew for my brother ben,so i have had the chance to do quite alot of travelling around the country,we used to borrow parents cars when we were at school so we could go watch the good meetings. I love that streetys are always action packed and the drivers are a really social bunch and all the people that you meet through speedway. I havent missed a nz streetstock title since 1997? but my favourite meeting is the palmy teams which i attend every year,i also rate supersaloons very highly. I have only raced a streetstock a few years ago for a few meeting, but do derbys every year, personally iwould rather just spectate/pitcrew than race as i cant afford to do both.
