Hi, name is Simon, all the way from the UK... at present.
Came for the 240's and Team Champs in Jan/February this year, loved it and hoping to be a lot closer to you all in a few months. Nothing set in stone but we are hoping to come out for a year, who knows maybe longer, and get involved.
Ideally I'd like to come out and race or at least spend some time working with one of the Super Stocks teams - the dream is there.
If anyone wants to know anything about the UK side of things feel free to ask away, we've got some talented drivers and engineers over here like FWJ but the Super Stock cars were something different and make ours look a little basic in comparison. Don't take anything away from the likes of FWJ and the other top drivers, they do the best with what they are allowed to use and every year Frankie comes back with ideas/suggestions from NZ only to be resisted by the powers that be - still that's life?
Met some great people during my trip and drivers which has set the wheels in motion to uproot and fly 12,000 miles to join you, looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible and at this stage I'm looking to forge some partnerships with a view to setting up with a team.
All the best.
Simon Hughes

Hi all, I'm Dave, living down in Upper Hutt. I'm just getting back into speedway after a few years away. Been motorbike racing (sidecars) for a long time but I've stopped bouncing !! Looking at doing something competitive rather than just spectating so I'm hoping to get into a production saloon as a first rung on the ladder and see what happens.

Hi, My Name is Lynn and I,m from Rotorua I currently have the Murray Hobbs ex A Grade 94R BP car or chassis as originally built by Steve Malaquin. I stripped it down over the winter and Steve was going to rebuild it for me, that was until his welder of 30yrs blew up and hes not going to replace it as he doesn't do enuff welding now. So its sitting in my shed waiting for someone to come along who wants to restore it. It has been rewelded over the years so is not really the full original one but pretty close to it. I will part with it if the right person comes along

Its awesome to be able to race against the top drivers in the country on one of the best tracks(: Dad(Graeme Barr) built the car that i race, it is 5 years old and it was his every first car, it has a Midwest Motor in it with quick channge diff and zf gear box. I'm looking forward to meeting new people this season and having good battles with the other drivers and even my dad! I look up to Peter Bengston and Andy McCabe, they are both very good drivers and look after me on and off the track, also Shane Mellsop for mentoring me and eating all our lollies Hope to see everyone around and meeting some new people cheers !

Names Cody, brought a stockcar end of last season, fingers crossed should be up and running this season few things left to do but we will get there. As new to racing(have watched the sport for years but never really been involved much with racing/drivers) dont know a hell of a lot but we'll jump in the deep end and learn. We brought the ex 99s which what i believe is the ex 71a and 82s. any info on the car would be great. We're based in Taranaki and will be racing out of stratford all going to plan.

Hi all, I'm Jason, I'm 34 and live in little old Gore. Been going to stockcars and speedway since I was a wee nipper with Dad and try and get round the 3 tracks within 2 hours drive from home as often as possible. I make the trek to Woodford Glen and Ruapuna at least once a year as well. Sprintcars and Super Saloons are my preference, but at the end of the day if its got wheels and a V8 then I'll watch it race, I ain't fussy!

Hi all. We are long time UK stock car supporters visiting NZ for the first time this January/February from the World 240s through to the Teams Champs. Would welcome a chat or a meet up with any NZ supporters/drivers/teams before or whilst we are in NZ. We also collect Stock car memorabillia and are looking for any NZ stock car items, programmes etc, particularly from the early days of racing. Likewise we have some UK programmes that we could bring to NZ should anyone be interested. Let us know on here or via melvyn.k@live.com Kind regards and see you in the new year !!! Hi there, my names Sam and I'm currently a circuit racer but still support speedway a bit. I normally go to Woodford Glen but have started going to Ruapuna speedway aswell over the past couple of years. Although the tarmac circuit is where my main passion lies I'm looking at some options within speedway to have a go at it as its cheaper and more rounds per year. Obviously based in Christchurch/canterbury area and am a 3rd year apprentice welder/fabricator (have had a solidwire mig welding ticket before, expired in june) and am interested in building some cars also. My race car is 27c Midget driver Nathan Blomquists old NZ6 VN commodore and my favourite classes would be stockcars, a grades and modifieds

Usually I'm called Don, but other names I've been called do spring to mind. I started out with speedway in 1964. My father was a foundation member of the Taranaki Stock Car Club and was Chief Pit-Marshall for the first several seasons. I ran more laps, and the slowest times, on the new track than I ever did racing. Drove a MF tractor towing a vibrator roller, 100's of laps at about 2 mph. Never missed a meeting there for the first 25 years or so. Raced a stock car there in the mid 70's, a '38 Chev coupe powered by a 'stroker' 237 c.i. sloper Valiant with Dodge g/b and diff. The chassis had a bow in it like a banana, luckily to the left, and it went into corners quite well. It was actually quite quick and I could just keep within a straight length of then local hotshop, the late John Adamson, in his fancy engineer designed 221 Bambino. I blew mine up in a major way the night of the 75/76 Taranaki Stock Car Champs. Ended up with a hole in the side of the block the size of a small ranch slider. I moved north to Marsden Point to work and never bothered with stock cars again until my return to New Plymouth in the early 80's. Built a new flat chassis car to be powered by a 230 c.i. Chevy 6 that I had, but then sold the lot cheaply to a mate. Next built the chassis for a modified 'sportsman', but costs rapidly rose too quickly and I flagged the whole thing. And now I'm too old to race and just spectate. Like at the 1015/16 Super Stock Champs. I was at the first one held at Stratford 1968/69, have never missed the ones inbetween, and will be at this season's one.

Hi my name is Phil. I'm currently building a BA falcon saloon. I raced for ten years in Westport. But I will be racing my new car at Woodford Glen. I was trying to get it out this season but due to little to no funds its looking like the end of the season for setting up and start a full season of racing next season unless I can get a sponsor. I built the car myself with a chassis I brought, went over all the welds added the cage and all the inside, dash& panels etc myself with the help of a few people and advice but have done 90% myself.
