I don't think you can put much trust in the Metservice 4 days out. Saturday looks worse than Friday imo

Been a while since I attended.. back when it was fri/sat LOL yeah, they use the waitangi weekend holiday and race sat/sun when possible.... gives more options for rain outs Sat does look bad but we have clear days following that in the forecast.... hoping it will change to clear saturday to a nicer day by the end of the week though or at least just minor showers clearing by night lol

Only downer to the sat/sun meeting is if it does rain and roll over onto Monday, those outside of Nz hoping to watch the stream, all but destroys that hope as we need to head to work. Mainly in Australia and the UK I guess.
I know last year I missed the final race, as was at work, but I did watch the replay later that day.
If entire finals night is ran Monday, what time would it start? Would it be full day meeting or usual 6pm time?

The way big meetings have been lately, they could run it all on Sunday, if rained out Saturday. .

We wont know till it actually happens, Monday is technically a workday so hopefully not till 6pm start as most locals would not have taken the day off. However they may choose to run both on the sunday but that is harder on the car and i believe ruins the final night as car repairs are not as good when they font have overnight. Either could be possible....... live stream can be purchased as a on demand product after the event has run if they do run it during the work day for those overseas on a different timezone

As a last minute thing, my partner and I have decided to make the trek southwards for Teams Champs this year - but only for night two due to other commitments. Of course, leaving it so late meant that allocated seating was all gone (no surprises), meaning we only had GA seating available. As it has been many years since I have been, I'm looking for a bit of advice. What time would the more seasoned fans advise we turn up at the gate? And, are we going to be faced with people covering seats in blue tarps and claiming them early - or has that practice dropped off? Any advise would be appreciated.

When I last attended 6 years ago tarps were banned, and to get a seat in GA you had arrive no later than an hour after gates open, don,t know how much GA seating there is today. .

The practice of yelling as much verbal abuse and throwing water bombs at the Palmy drivers is still a tradition that continues. They love it.

And I hope they're still banned. So, no later than an hour it is. If they've sold me a GA ticket, then I'd hope there would be somewhere to sit. Guess we will find out

When we used to get GA tickets we purchased them at 3pm as soon as the gates opened and come back an hour or 2 later. Each year more and more of the GA stand behind the Speedway office seemed to be roped off as reserved, not sure for who though.Maybe the crew.A ticket doesnt gaurentee a seat and theres nowhere to stand either. All around the back is packed with everyone standing unless they bunch up for you.Id get there an hour and half before to get a seat.Means a lot of waiting then you have to sit through the 45min parade.Good luck.
