Correct me if I'm wrong but I've just been advised that racing this year is Saturday & Sunday. Why?

That would be because Monday the 8th is a public holiday.

I understand Monday is a holiday, but why change it from Friday Saturday to Saturday Sunday. As far as I remember it always been Fri Sat meeting regardless of holidays. It would then give people that extra day to travel home etc. I'm not bleating just can't understand promos way of thinking.

With Monday as a holiday it means you can travel there on a Saturday and home on the Monday, meaning no time off work?

Friday/saturday Pros - more time to travel home after the meeting. And more days back up incase of weather (sun and mon) Saturday/Sunday Pros - some don't have to take Friday off to get there so don't miss work. Still have a back up day of Monday. Either way its gunna happen and an early prediction is a new champion this year.

So who are predicting to be the new Champion Highway? The Wildcats?, the Giants? or perhaps the Hawkeyes will finally take the title after trying every year since the meetings inception.

Valid points, I'm just guttered due to booking flights from ChCh for Thursday night returning 7am Monday morn... Oh well should have checked my champs tickets before booking my flights. As for the winning team..... You'll not need to look past the Tigers this year!

..As for the winning team..... You'll not need to look past the Tigers this year! Maybe, but the Tigers will have to perform astronomically better than they did against the Panthers earlier this season.

But here is the ? will the Palmy Promotions Team let a gisborne team enter after all the crap that happened last season for the Rees,s to pack there bags has anybody thought about this I mentioned this a while ago. As this is a promoter run event ( non SNZ championship ) Mr Robinson can invite or decline any team he wants. This happened with the Kihikihi Kings one year, due to not wanting to run 13 teams (I think). I hope they will be there. I don't think Bruce is the sort of person to decline an invite due to spite. If anything he may need all the teams he can get this year. A little unsure if they will hit the 12 teams for the ideal format without them. Should be getting some info re teams in the next couple of weeks after the nz's and 240's. After all we are a month away from the big one.

I could imagine G being given the last spot to make a suitable format if it comes down to it. As in they might be made to wait on a decision. Yes G contain draw cards in the Rees trio but its going to be a sell out whether they are there or not.
Teams that are pretty much definite: N, W, P, P, B, S, R, UK. Thats 8. Will we see V (most likely), A (likely), M (most likely), H (unlikely), G (most likely) and C (most likely).
With H missing the cut we could be looking at 13 teams again this year.

They have 3 listed in the Super NZ Champs - 23v Duncan. 56v Pod, 99v Watkins. Add in 54v Humphrey and Mooney in a car and theres 5. Pearson might appear if not in the Mustangs. He was a warrior last year was he not. They will easily find a 6th driver. Ian Barron etc always put hand up to help out.
