I stand to be corrected but I heard today that Mr Robertson Esq has refused Gisborne entry to the Teams Champs. If this is correct there can be no other reason but pure sour grapes You heard this from? Was it someone involved with palmy promotion or someone involved with a possible gizzy team (cause as of right now they don't have one do they? All previous members have long since retired), was it the bloke from the pub. Until we know who it came from its little more than a rumor started by an anonymous internet poster, and should be treated as such.

Hence why he has said he stands to be corrected and that this is what he's heard.

Got to agree with you Mr Jam, "I've heard" without saying from whom gives zero credence to the assertion. The last we heard from the manager and the captain of the Giants is that they have neither a yes or a no as yet.

What a load of round things this sounds. Why would you refuse entry to a team that looks like it is going to spice up the event the same amount the busters comeback did. There are more supers with G's on them than the Rees built cars. Why even say something you heard without it even say who it's from. Express opinions sure but bring some sort of facts in your luggage

I have spoken to Bruce about teams on a few occasions. And every time he has said the same thing he will wait an see how many teams are going to be there and if he needs another teams to make up numbers then he will invite the g, if he doesn't then they won't be coming. He is still quite disappointed at what they did, ( or the way they did it) especially after all the time, effort and money he has put into the Rees family. ( even by funding Rees race cars to begin with to get it up and running) especially when what went on was mainly a snz thing. Not a promotion thing. But time will tell. I can tell you it's looking like they might be having a joint wanderers/allstars team as both clubs are struggling. Unless the g doesn't get the invite then taniwha will be an allstar.

Teams Champs wouldn't be Teams Champs if there wasn't some of the normal "I heard from..." rumours doing the rounds. If even half of the rumours I heard at Stratford over the weekend had even a small element of truth to them, it would be the most fascinating weekend you've ever seen! But until they are proven to be true or false, they remain just rumours, and aren't worthy of being repeated. Let's not forget; this time a year ago THAT hit in the Global 248's at Palmerston North was still in the future, and there would have been at least two Rees family members racing at Palmy on Teams Champs weekend. Then the landscape changed very quickly, and guess what; even without the drivers who made themselves unavailable, it was one of the best Teams Champs ever. The event is far bigger than any one team or any one driver. Bruce Robertson and Palmy promoters before him have invested heavily in making this the showcase event of the season, and the fact that the event is all but a sellout year in and year out proves that that investment has been money well spent. And at the end of the day, rumours are just that, until they are substantiated. By the way, you should have heard what Ramjam told me at the weekend...just kidding!!

I heard from Ramjam that 100% of the voices in his head told him G should be there ahead of a made up A/H team. But he also doubts a single ticket more or less would be sold based on who the 12 (+) teams in attendance are.
He also told me it's wank to refer to myself in the third person but what does he know.

Drop the Mustangs. They're only a Palmy 'B' team....originally... :/

I heard that Ramjam was adversely affected by something in the dust at Stratford this weekend. I can't tell you who I heard it from, but they assured me the person they heard it from swears it's true

Any team thats got an outsider racing for them, e.g pearson for wanganui, roberts for chch etc, should be considered after a club that has a full squad of drivers that are contracted to them. Just my opinion though

I would prefer to see the Giants in before two clubs have to combine to make one team if this was the case.

Gizzy's been there before - also part of the history of the event. And now have a resurgence in their club. Who cares how they make up their team - there are "S" cars in the 'P' team...Or would you prefer a Palmy C team and while you're at it, lets call it the Manawatu Superstock Teams. To be a true representation of the "NZ" Superstock Teams champs, you need a team from each province if they are willing/able to provide. You do not see a Canterbury B team playing in the NPC...

Who cares how they make up their team - there are "S" cars in the 'P' team.... I've been to at least one night every year since it started (missed night 2 in 04 & 14) and altho was fairly young for the first few, I cannot recall ever seeing an S race for P. Can you enlighten me on who and when ?

Think you might've mis-interpretated what I was meaning.(Palmy has never had ring-ins). Joblins were once 'S' and now P. Rees was once 'P' and now G. The list goes on... Yes, you do need ring ins - not knocking those. But it is supposedly a Provincial event. I'm not worried who turns up, for whatever team. We just want to see A team from each province.
