I'm starting to understand that myself Steelpanther, and I am a level below the guys doing the organising. "Enormous" describes it well, and as the Mainland cheese advertisement says "good things take time". so whats ya realistic chances of being there Our chances are realistic. Rumours of our death may yet prove to be premature. And rumours of the make-up of the team will continue to be rumours until such time as the Club makes an OFFICIAL announcement.

I think the Palmerston North Panthers were the first to have matching body colours, but this was before the Palmy Teams Champs (I think) and I think the Bay Park Busters were the first to have matching body colours in the modern era, but I might be wrong.. I'd be interested to know who the second team to take up matching colours was, or did everyone get on board all at once? Seems "Teams Champs Historian" has been a bit quiet on here.. perhaps he'd probably know. I am genuinely interested. The Baypark Busters were the first in "the modern era" (1992/93 season), yes, the Stratford Scrappers being the second 12 months later. I don't know who was first back in the "good ole days", I know the Panthers were black and there was the Pall Mall team 20 odd years before The Todd & Pollock team, but of note there was racing between NZ and Australia about 20 years before that again, and the New Zealand cars were black & white with a Kiwi on the car from photos I've seen, so that's likely where it all started, back in the 1950's. In reply to Go Slideways and BarryB - From memory, in the mid 60s the Wellington 'Jesters' had a red and white scheme. Panthers have always been black to the best of my knowledge. When they came to race the Stratford Scrappers, Warrick Sisson and sometimes Jack Noaro, would park their cars at our place overnight. WS and his wife used to spend the night at our place as well.
