Will this year be the year for the best team NEVER to have won the title.... Hawkes Bay.... Worth a lazy $20 punt Ramjam.... If I'm walking down the street and find twenty nicker blowing in the wind down the street but can't find the stripper who's G string it fell out of, then will consider putting it on the hawke-eyes. But if you think I will put my own hard earned on it, you must be cray cray

And don't forget about the draw. I bet it's rigged again this year too! It's always rigged. Every year it's rigged in a different teams favor, I believe this year is Hawkes Bay's turn. Last year it was rigged in favor of Whanganui, and they made it to the final. Next year is Christchurch. (No none of that is true) last year hawkeyes had the easy group for a change, so must be back to normal this year lol

Are the HBHornets still racing or was that a one off?

From the Miers Motosport FB page
Prior to the 2016 Panthers Team being named I would like to personally announce that I have made the decision to retire from Teams Racing.
I debuted for the Panthers back in 1989 and in 1992 put my first title win under my belt, another 9 followed over 24 years.
My win in 2015 will be by far the most special to me, winning alongside my best mate and son Jack but the time has come to step aside and make way for young blood coming through who have well and truly earned the right to be in the team.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my supporters and everyone else who has made my teams racing career possible and so successful, as well as friends I have raced with and against. Special mention must go to an extremely good friend of mine Peter Bengston (Beesting). Him and I started teams racing together back in 05/06 until present and it was both an honour and a privilege to line up alongside someone I hold in such high regard.
I am excited to support the 2016 Panthers team, whoever that may be and do whatever I can to help them retain the trophy. Although it will be a change sitting on the other side of the fence when the flag drops it is something I am looking forward to.
Cheers, Scotty.

Well & truly the end of an era, what a fantastic innings. If you were to name a team of legends there are only a couple of names that most ppl would agree on, but Scotty Miers would be one of them.
For mine tho the best part is he was a hard player in a hard game and he has got out as a legend on his own terms. Well Done

With the loss of Kyle Heibner & Shaun Pearson will the Warriors be able to front a team this year or will it be the opening that the Giants have been waiting for? Also are we likely to see Auckland field a team having lost Scott Tenant, Karl Hodge & Gavin Taniwha from last season or is it possible we could be down to 11 Teams??

Teams that will most certainly be there
glen eagles tigers wildcats panthers mustangs scrappers hawkeyes gb lions
More than likely ( Car / Driver numbers maybe an issue) busters warriors rebels Giants ( Car numbers seam ok but from what has being said on this board acceptance maybe an issue?)
Less likely wanderers allstars
That's how I see it but hopefully there's more info out there?

With Kerry Podjursky's retirement from teams racing, the Warriors may struggle to field a team. If the Giants aren't accepted maybe there is space in the Warriors for a Rees or two. Or is Bruce going to deny entry to any team with a Rees in it?

I think the Gisborne drivers would race for Gisborne first rather than have two drivers used to make up some other team. Sparky, interesting to hear huntly and wanganui are still "trying to feilds a team. How many pn cars will be needed to get both teams off the ground do you think? Wanganui maybe 2 - he other three might be dion in a car (tank?) 23v, 54v, and ? huntly might be 48h and ? Four pn cars? Auckland will definitely have a team as bruce owns the track and a few cars, so there will be an all stars team. Even if the team has stockcars and supers from pn mixed in. I see the all stars Facebook page has not been updated since November and has an interesting team named for that event with a mix of drivers

Be bit rank to have a mixed team and not let in a team of cars all registered to the one club. also if letting sides mix and match there should be no whinging or problem if a side does use 'imports', 'ring ins' should they need to. I strongly feel there will be 2-3 sides with drivers not regularly registered to them, in their team. CHCH is an example already. NO one yet to whinge about that , lets see if theres moans if another club or two follow suit

Kevin Roberts has already raced at chch this year, and raced for the Glen eagles last year when they were desperate. I understand when've committed to the Glen last year it we with the understanding it would be for two years. Fair play to lay to him for helping out a team in a bind, and for being commuted enough to be back in for 2 years
