Much better tonight, had no loss of picture at all until the teams prize giving. Was a little unpredictable with sound level but overall quite happy with how it went. For us it was a vast improvement over last night. Interestingly last night was the worst I have had it from Palmy, it was also the first time I used Chrome like they suggest. Went back to IE tonight and as said, was happy! I set mine up at 5pm. Had it running through chome and had some lag and buffering issues. Opened up IE shut everything else down and perfect. Same here . Using the backup JWPlayer offered a very good livestream. Just shows what happens when enough bill payers complain , now the standard has been set with 6000+ livestream connections that 99% worked . How many will livestream now , this Speedway product Broadcast is of an acceptable viewing quality and when word spreads around the TV world , is unique and worth selling. Well done Video hub.

I'd have to rate tonight's live stream as the best live streaming experience I've had (of New Zealand Speedway). Stream was flawless all night and the camerawork was pretty good as well. I think I heard one of the commentators say there were 6,000 people watching the live stream? That numbers sounds a little high but I imagine the stream would have been the most popular in NZ Speedway history. Well done to all involved. That figure was correct. 6000 plus

Would not a few other Promoters like 6000+ paying an entry fee if they were already a full house. Time for a rethinks now , after this has happened . Most tracks can't hold much more than 6000 patrons so another 3-5000+ livestream will certainly be better than bums on seats that require toilets and carparking.

Yes the standard has been set as it was last year. Anyone remember the complaints on the first night last year. Pretty much the same as this year. Come on video hub lets get it right for two nights in a row

That figure was correct. 6000 plus Not sure where the source of that figure came from but it's not correct. Certainly wasn't 6000 sales however individuals watching the stream (remember one person purchases and then a few mates sit in the lounge around the TV), maybe.

I believe some lessons to take away for a number of parties in regards to event power.

Knowing the numbers that brought the NZ Superstocks stream from Welly last season and how it relates to the teams the year before, I thought 6k paid subscriptions sounded a bit (very) ambitious.

Much talk around about live streams but this is one I can vouch for from experience. The Stream from Palmy a couple of weeks ago was excellent with regards the quality of image and sound. The stream ran the full meeting without any stoppages or stuttering. My connection here at home is one of the new fangled fibre jobs which is obviously an advantage over some of the old copper type connections although if your provider is up to the job and your computer and modem aren't too ancient all should be well for you too. Check your connection at speedtest.net and see what your setup is providing you with, preferably during the 7pm to 10pm time slot. Mine is screen shots Did you do as this post suggested.

FYI ... If you are watching online streaming ... DOWNLOAD Speed is important If you are UPLOADING then the upload speed is important. Since the internet varies speeds, it is best to test your connecting 1 week before, on the day and time, you wish to watch an event. If you wish to watch a full 1080p HD picture you will need 4 - 8 Meg depending on the compression used x 50% (allows for internet variances) SO ... to be safe a 8-10 Meg DOWNLOAD speed is required. THIS IS ASSUMING the UPLOAD Provider understands the internet and their requirement ... :-) Jason SL Doing what is called a 'speedtest' and switching off modem for 2 minutes , then turning back on and testing internet is working correctly before asking for help will quicken up any tech advice as they normally will want this done. record the speedtest results. This should prove your computer is working within the settings . Did you check out these possible problems or causes at the time. might have helped.

Well I Decided that they wouldnt put up two shockers in a row and relented. Glad i did..yes thecommentator said strait up 6000 viewers..( now we get a denial)...30 000 bucks..got no excuses to not get it freaking perfect in the future, i thought some of the camera work was a bit crappy but the picture quality was very good, the sound needs a bit of adjusting...maybe the commentators need to move away a little from the mics ...all up it was worth 50 bucks, just, i wouldnt be buying it above that price....I thought the site of those caedboard boxes coming out after the final looked a bit cheap and nasty and all the mucking round and BS was enough to make me tune out and miss the saloon finale, still I got what was on offer with no problems here in matamata,,,, (hardly the internet capital of the world) now im looking forward to more progress on quality and professionalism..the only way is still up..thanks

Glad i did..yes thecommentator said strait up 6000 viewers..( now we get a denial)...30 000 bucks 6000 x 50 = $300,000, not 30,000 bucks. But as explained, it maybe around 6000 viewers (impossible to know) but not 6000 actual sales. Barry B

Yes I wondered if anyone would pick up on that, thanks, so to continue... As said Barry, but not as explained, saying something and explaining something are two differing things, how could the commentator tell the difference between viewers and sales?...how can he tell how many people are watching at each computer?.. or even suggest a guess?, he said it was a new high or a record for the stream at 6000 and he didnt just pluck this number out of thin air! so why the cover up?...folks have always been quiet about numbers in the threads i have read over the years, now a commentator lets it slip that there were 6000 viewers and theres a big hush hush job going on...is it because earning $300 000 would put downward pressure on the pricing of this event next time? Might it seem a little obsene to make such a profit off something that gets put up on the big screen anyway? ooh ooh oooh is it because of the muck up on the first night and the fact no one is getting a refund even with the 300k taken in to account or..umm..maybe the drivers want a bigger piece of the pie... maybee SNZ wants a piece of the action and will now pursue a policy of making the teams an SNZ event like has happened with the stockcar grade recently thereby owning the event?...(darn i love me any conspiracy theory) Hey i didnt think you were involved this year Barry so why join in the cover up? This is a case for mulder and scully...

As said Barry, but not as explained, saying something and explaining something are two differing things, how could the commentator tell the difference between viewers and sales?...how can he tell how many people are watching at each computer?.. The commentator knew nothing , he asked a technician and got an off the cuff answer. Don't stress. I doubt the figure given was accurate or even close. I guess there could be some survey out there that suggests 3, 4 or more watch these live streams together Exact numbers are unlikely to be announced as they would be commercially sensitive. All you (and us) need to be concerned with is if we got value for money. I think we did both nights despite night one having it's issues.

thanks for your concern Macgor, im not stressed, im enjoying it. Yep on the face of it we only need to be concerned with value for money but as stakeholders in the sport as a whole we all need to be pushing to get better all the time. This is a sport where people balk at paying 20 bucks to get in to a meeting, and many seem stranded in the 80s or 90 as far as what things cost and yes, the value for money issue is raised many times in posts on these boards often by your own major contributors in reviews or previews so any time we are offered a two day meeting through our computers for 100 dollars its worthy of all inspection, dont you think?

I was having a bit of fun Barry thats all...but I was well aware of the mathematical anomyly I posted. I wanted to hear more on the subject, to see what came of it, Glad you picked up on the Mulder and Scully bit because here I go again (paul McCarney and Wings) You carried on to say that you didnt believe 6000 sales was correct and said 6000 viewers maybe, or words to that effect, but how could anyone guess at such a figure, well sir no one guessed at that figure, it was told to the commentator (who Macgor believes knows nothing) that 6000 was the number, by a technician who was part of the team and had access to info and equipment, in fact he must have said more than just 6000 because the commentator who knows nothing actually knew enough to say it is a record for live streaming out of Palmy...you dant say such things on a whim...it was pretty emphatic all round really, and just looking at it this way as far as cover up is concerned..we now have the top person from this site denying the figures and saying the commentator doesnt know anything, and the next top dude on this site who has massive experience also denying the figures and denying a cover up is going on...and im thinking what the hell does it matter how many people signed up...but on the other hand I really want to know why theres such a secret about it... Thanks it been fun. Now where the hell is Scully
President K was definately hit by more than one bullet...they definately came from two seperat directions holy heck did you see the face get blwn off (land of the free, my butt) Did man land on the moon, I used to be sure we did, but if we did, why havent we gone back? Who is Lord Lucan Yes the truth is out there....
