Still no Panthers team named, just days out from the event. Jordan Dare has no engine, and I understand Rebecca Barr has been ruled out of the weekend. The Mustangs have named a team, so when can we expect the Panthers team to be announced?

How good is saturday. 11 team races. 3 stockcar races and 5 odd midget races. Not sure sunday has much araction other than 5 superstock team races. Unless format change.

There's 8 teams races on the Sunday night R3 - 1st vs 8th R4 - 2nd vs 7th R5 - 3rd vs 6th R6 - 4th vs 5th R9 - semi final winner R3 vs winner R4 R10 - semi final winner R5 vs winner R6 R14 - loser R9 vs loser R10 R17 - winner R9 vs winner R10 Also Auckland Mod champs & 20 lap for King of the park with 16 mods entered. Plus 3 Superstock races. |

Whilst the format has some positives in that the 8th placed team is still in with a chance of winning, I would have thought the 1st and 2nd highest point scorers from the first night, (chances are they are the best 2 teams on paper), wouldn't potentially meet until the final. The format suggest they could meet in a semi-final making for a lop-sided final. |

Part of 1st and 2nd racing early and gives more time for repairs as a reward for quallying 1st and 2nd. I think once you get to semis it is brutal anyway, and there has been many a lopsided final due to semi final damage. The main thing I like about the format (maybe I am not quite right in assuming) is the entire 2nd night is 1st across the line. |
