Never planned that way, but that's how it's ended up with all of the rain delays. Barry B

Huntly Speedway will be making a decision tomorrow night at 7pm whether they will be running this weekend or not,if not they will run the event on the 24th and 25th February. Big call to only postpone by a week if the do go that way - unlikely the southern teams will get new ferry bookings in such a tight timeframe. Fingers crossed all teams drivers and crews are OK and keen and able to carry on - be the good news story us speedway fans need! The Dunedin team had a post last night that they can't get an alternative ferry booking until March.

Will these new dates cause teams to change drivers with this meeting now clashing with NZ Superstock Gp?

If the SI teams can't get there can you really call it the NZ title...
We just going to have two national champs this year ... One in standards and one in supers

Will these new dates cause teams to change drivers with this meeting now clashing with NZ Superstock Gp? You would imagine so. Take Wellington for example - 3 of the 5 are regular SuperStock competitors. 5w Keegan Levien9w Sheldon Arapere 46w Ethan Levien69w Kayne McDonald 669w Brendon Tye

I suspect a few titles won't even get held unless the sun starts shining this weekend and didn't stop for the next 3-4 months.

From the Crushers page
Firstly, from us all at the Cando Fishing Crushers, we hope everyone affected by the recent storm are safe and well.
As most will know, Huntly Speedway have had to postpone the Outback 4x4 NZ Stockcar Teams Championship to next weekend, February 24th & 25th.
Whilst out of everyone’s control, we are extremely disappointed. Like all teams, our group has been working hard for 2 years, fundraising, and saving to make the ‘Big Show’ which may now just be a pipe dream.
Like the Otago Outlaws, being from the south island, the logistics getting to the north island as a group is a massive undertaking. Last minute changes when having to travel such distance, including crossing that dreaded bit of water between our two islands, near makes things impossible.
To make things worse, our accommodation provider can’t accommodate us next week, and although their policy is clear, they are not willing to give us any form of refund which is a huge financial loss. With up to 30 of us travelling as a ‘team’, finding somewhere else that can accommodate us all in one place is proving very difficult (anyone have space for x30 well behaved, toilet trained individuals?)
But we aren’t giving up yet! The speedway family is worth its weight in gold, and we have some very passionate, determined people working hard behind the scenes trying to get us over that bit of water so we can have a crack at getting our hands on that elusive and prestigious trophy.
From Harley, Braydon, James, Jay, Tyler, Jayden, & Troy, a huge thanks to everyone for their support to date. Your commitment and valued support is appreciated more than you may realise.

Hasn't been any registered for a few seasons from memory Feel free to actual click on the links in the post. Huntly dropped Minisprints and Super Saloons at the end of the 2020/2021 season. Ben Vaughan and Elliot Heron have been registered to Palmerston North since then. They are even explicitly mentioned in the preview for this weekends NZ title. "Local hometown heroes may have the home soil advantage and are likely podium contenders, with drivers including 41p Shane Dewar, 8p Nathan Jefferies, 18p Daniel Nickel, 72p Elliot Heron and 57p Ben Vaughan all in serious contention of the title." The Minisprint and Super Saloon pages on the Huntly site are both from the 2020/21 Season. Hence 8A/3NZ Craig Cardwell is listed too, as back then he was an 'H' car. Many tracks dropped classes at that same time, because of the 5 meeting minimum rule that was implemented. For example Stratford - Super Saloons, Palmy - Streetstocks, Kihikihi - Streetstocks & TQ's etc.

Righto take two. Are we going to see any changes to drivers or teams or entries? I see Otago are scrambling to find a ferry crossing, how’s Christchurch placed? Will Gary Lonergan do the most Gary Lonergan thing ever and try race both cars at 2 tracks rushing between huntly and waikaraka park? He’s up there with the most committed drivers and I’m sure he’s considering the viability. Will Hawke’s Bay even have a team after the last weeks weather events?
